Micromax TVs - opinion?

I am on lookout for Micromax 32 inch HD Ready TV Buy Micromax 32TFK18HD/T2222HD/28BKHD 81 cm (32) LED TV Online at best Prices In India and at 14.6 K I think this is a bargain. This would be installed in bedroom but just wondering on one of the FM comments of that SD and HD channels look the same. Is that the case really? I do plan to use it with a HD STB from Dish TV.
HD and SD channels cannot and will not look the same. HD will always be better, of course. But for the size of this TV and with a viewing distance of 8' or more (typical viewing distance), SD will not appear too bad and the difference with HD will not be that glaring (as with a 42"+ model). But you should do a field demo and check for yourself.

I bought this 50 inch mammoth yesterday and it is good

Sd setup is with me and it's been satisfaction for my eyes comparing with LG and sony

I personally tested with 720p mkv file, it looked stunning.

Many reviewers complain about cheap led inbuilt speakers are low, but it has good enough sound. Of course if you want cinema experience then add setup

How much is the pocket pinch?
Does this model have 'noise reduction' circuitry?
Could you please post some pics?
BTW, mention your location more precisely, as most of the forum members are from India :ohyeah: :ohyeah: :ohyeah:

We added a Micromax 40T2820FHD last week as a 2nd TV and I'm pretty satisfied with what I see, picture quality is comparable to my Sony 46" that cost 5 times as much.

Sure, the Micromax is a relatively barebones sort of TV but one could argue that it does the basic job of displaying a movie and does this pretty well.

An excellent deal and one I'm tempted for a 3rd TV or simply to use for audio and gaming. Sadly though no Flipkart delivery for my area... but it gives me ballpark figures to check out with local guys.

I checked today that the 14K costing Micromax 32 incher is not deliverable in my pincode by flipkart and the next cheapest 32 incher from micromax is 15.5K which can be delivered to my area but it also got some negative reviews on incorrect skin color tones in the internet.

But then again I see that for 17.5K I am getting a Videocon which has pretty much same feature as the 15.5K micromax yet except 1 less HDMI input but then again comes with a 3 yrs Videocon warranty than Micromax's 1 Year warranty.

What do you guys think?

Since you are getting Videocon for 17.5K with 3 years warranty, it is better to go for it as you will have to additionally pay at least 2-3K for additional two years by Micromax, if available at all.

By the way, what is your pincode?

Thanks elangoes and rmcws for the suggestions. Yes 3yrs warranty is a plus. Also for the Philips option I see there is one plus, 120hz against 60hz in others. Although for both the Philips and videocon I will need to buy a hdmi splitter which will make the effective price difference around 4k. But you cannot let go the 3 yrs warranty and the fact that micromax is new to the tv business.

If you are looking for a TV with minimum 2 HDMI ports, then Philips & Videocon might not help as you need to get HDMI splitter which increases the cost by additional 4K making it roughly 21K...

What is maximum you want to spend for this TV?

Juz found an other model of Philips with 2 HDMI inputs & 3 yrs warranty... http://www.flipkart.com/philips-32p...isplay_sizeSelected=true&otracker=from-search

That Philips is costing ~ 21K. Btw I was thinking of the 17.5K Philips and this HDMI splitter which would total up in less than 19K. But then again just realized that since today the Videocon and the Philips are not available at FK at my location. The one available is Buy Philips 29PFL4738 71 cm (28) LED TV Online at best Prices In India which is the 28 inch 4000 series TV of the 32 incher you suggested in previous post and the 17.5 K one i was eyeing is 3000 series model.

In your refresh rate link I could not find Philips but on specs of these TVs I see it is written "3/2 ans 2/2 pulldown enhancements" so may be 120 can still be real. This 28 incher Philips will wrap things up for me in 16.5 K which is just 1K more than Micromax. Regarding my budget, this is what happened

-- My original budget was to buy a replacement TV around 24 inch size in less than 10K
-- then I saw the micromax 32 incher coming in 14.9 K and decided it is what I will go for and compromise on PQ for price point and size
-- then I saw that it is not available at my location so found the cheapest available is 16.5K
-- then I saw that going 1K higher I am getting Videocon and that too with yrs warranty
-- and then this discussion thread is going on :) see its just going on increasing my budget :)

Frankly I would not like to go even to 20K where my original budget was 10K. :(

Get your point... It always goes likes this...

I think 28 Philips suits your requirements with 3 yrs warranty, but lil more than you original budget.. But i feel worth it ...

Refer to the table "Panel Refresh Rate Conversion for 2014 Models for 50Hz Countries (Rest of the world)".. You have Philips column towards the end in which it states "100 & 200 Hz as PMR" while the actual refresh is 50Hz..

So good chances are that the model you have short-listed from Philips is 60Hz

Good to know that people are slowly moving from being brand crazy to cheaper yet reliable and practical vendors.

Hey Multi congrats on your purchase, it would really help us if you could post some pics of your TV and share your experiences.

My personal experience with Samsung hasn't been too good. I brought a 40" LCD TV in 2007 and within 4 years I had a big smudge/blot(not sure what to call it) on the screen. Called a service engineer and fount out its an LCD panel problem and only solution is to replace it. I have been living with this ever since..

Had similar experience with branded mobiles and recently picked up a Mi3 and very happy with the performance and price(:clapping:). So whats wrong in moving away from Sonys/Samsungs/LGs to cheaper brands(only price wise).

I am pretty much impressed with the specs of 50B5000FHD and planning to buy one. Sadly flipkart doesn't deliver in Hyd.

I came to know some dealers in Hyd who sell Micromax TV's and planning to contact them. If anyone in Hyd are interested lets form a group and try to get a good bargain especially under exchange scheme.

I am not much aware abt 3:2 pull down is... I think other FM can pitch & help you here...But most entry level models need to woo customers.. So Yes gimmick needed..

I haven't bought anything at all from Snapdeal.. But there has been mixed responses in this forum abt buying on snapdeal... I think they offer only 10 days replacement policy incase any such issues....

But Flipkart offers 30 day exchange / 60 day exchange policy (Flipkart First customer) if you buy from WS Retail.... More Advantage here i guess..

I have been an happy Flipkart customer for 3 yrs, returned many products and they are such a "Breeze" to deal with.... Customer is real king here
