hi all,
i want to know how much motion rate is enough? i am planning for a 32" LED from LG. for LV3730 model website has not mentioned anything about motion rate where as for LE5500 its given as trumotion 100hz. now my question is should i consider 100hz motion rate tv or just 50hz is enough. i watch movies and tata sky hd channels mostly.

thanks

I am also a newbee, but i have Trumotion settin in my LE5500 which can be adjusted as Low, med, high and we can also adjust the judder on a scale of 0-7, it kinda of uselful if u r too much concerned abt the quality of the display, like if u want to tweak it and bring out the best response lik me...or else default settings would be okay.....
I had to adjust trumotion only for my BLURAY videos since i ws facing judder,
in any other case it seemed to work without any worries...
One more thing....Check the dynamic contrast ratio between 3730 and 5500...it wil matter most...and go to a showroom compare both and see which one looks good for u...

hi Rajath,

thanks for reply. below are the differences as given in the LG site.
1. LV3730 has edge LED while LE5500 has LED (may be local dimming but not sure)
2. LV3730 has LED LCD IPS panel while LE5500 has LCD IPS panel (will this make difference?)
3. LV3730 has wide color control while LE5500 has none
4. motion clarity index is not mentioned for both
5. color reproduction is 10bit for LE5500 while nothing mentioned for LV3730
6. DCR is 3M:1 for LV3730 while it is 5M:1 for LE5500 (will this make difference?)
7. LV3730 has 3ms response time while LE5500 has 2.4ms (will this make difference?)
8. LE5500 has trumotion 100hz and color gamut control while nothing mentioned for LV3730

pls let me know how much the extra features that LE5500 has make difference? is it really worth of going for LE5500.

thanks

Hello,
Have so what choice did you finally make, what inputs can you give me for LV3730 - how does it compare to Sony EX520

Does LG LV 3730 work without a smart motion control remote

hi rahul,

yes LV3730 works without magic motion RC. LV37 is a VFM compared to EX520.

anyway i purchased panny 32D25. i find panasonic PQ and SQ much much better than any other models in the same range. plus i got it at lot lesser price. i recommend dis as it supports 100hz true motion, while other models in the same range only support 50/60 hz for the same cost.

thanks

normal 100 hz tv's (non 3d) use the input 50Hz and then internally process the input to 100hz. This can be useful when you watch sports or while gaming as the screen refreshing becomes faster and therefore less dragging trails and all.
But there are some issues while watching movies etc. as many have reported smearing and characters appear as if they are made of plastic etc. Might be of cheap TV's. But as the TV signals relay 50Hz, there is an argument that 50Hz gives a better natural vision.
Some of the population feels the flickering of the screen while watching 50Hz. They feel much better with 100Hz.

So the answer is yes - you can go for 100Hz .. you could switch it off if you don't want it. :)
But if you are paying a premium and you do not do gaming or watch sports much .. yeah you should stick to 50Hz

Hi
As fas as motion is concerned a CRT has the fastest motion then plasma then LCD/LED, colours on a plasma are more vibrant due to higher contrast than a LCD, scanning at 100hz gives a steady picture (less flicker on CRT TV's)
