When I wanted to go to a larger format TV (51') I had to overcome the problem of limited placement options. Due to the size and shape of my living room the only good place to install my TV was dead center of French doors leading into my study. I found a good solution at Fireplace TV Mount | Fireplace flat Panel | Fireplace TV | Dynamic Mounting. I was able to mount the TV overhead. I can easily get through the doors with the TV in the Up position.
When I want to watch I normally bring the TV to the down position which is a good viewing height.
I even get a rebate by doing this post.
The design and build quality are impressive allowing several useful adjustments like up and down angle and weight.
Even my wife is good with this solution.
