Hello!

Got this finally made yesterday.

The shitty yet functional desktop table I had previously to the HTPC table. Took 2 weeks with almost constant supervision of the carpenter.

Needs more cabling, just assembled it yesterday in hurry.

Looks good man. How about adding 2 small exhaust fans with low RPM's? I know, being paranoid. but still that wood makes me fear that there will be heat build up.

Just to facilitate air flow.

Pics uploaded :)

The whole "project" was very satisfying. Some minor mods to be done this weekend. Cable clutter will be reduced more. This is temp.

Air flow is top priority! Made a bottom PSU intake and rear exhaust. Front has a vent/intake too. Look close!

I see the vents you made. I was actually referring to exhaust fans.

We used to have an old Sanyo stereo receiver in a tight space like you do now around 15 years back. It was a 5 tier enclosure. Still the back being 50% open, the heat build up was too much. We had some issue with the Rx and had to do some repairs, when the audio guru(very well known in Kerala. his name is referred here also) came to set it up and saw the casing, he recommended bit more air flow, in a push-pull config. We added 2 small very low RPM exhaust on advice of him. The material used was teak for the casing.

Perhaps our place being coastal does mean something also.

Perhaps it isn't a concern in your case.

It is not because It is not an AVR, it is a PC with high quality components running cool already. I would never keep a reciever in an enclosed chamber.

Again, you misread. there was like 2 feet * 3 feet opening behind. Anyways as long as everything goes well.

It is veneer and polish (varnish?) No idea about materials uses. Overall finish is good.

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
