My New Banana Plugs From Nakamichi

Nak Banana plugs are available in ebay India also.
24 100% Nakamichi Speaker banana plug connector 24K USA (Rs. 1557)

Those are not in India - the seller is in Louisiana, USA. They will be shipped to India by I2C World - a trans-shipper. Meaning they will buy it in US and ship it to you in India.

Also cost is very high at $34 - more than twice cost of purchasing them directly from the Hong Kong seller for $16 or even direct from Nakamichi for $20.

Just ordered 8 of these fake Nakamichi banana plugs from ebay.com for $7.49 (with free shipping). Hope these are usable.

I received these banana plugs today.
The banana plugs are quite good in finish and they look better in real than the eBay pictures. Absolutely recommended at 300 INR for 8 pieces.

This is not the original Nakamichi that makes the legendary tape players. This is some fraud company based in China.Though the logo has been copied, if you look at the name it uses a different font and letter size.

The brass plating on them will go off easily when you use a car wax to remove any corrosion after some use. :lol:

The conductors doesn't seem like copper plated but rather they are all copper.

In fact a larger corporation may not have the time to staff people for such a response turnaround time. But a grubby crook with a week old stubble sitting in his dirty boxer shorts and banyan in dingy smoke filled room somewhere with an Internet connection might ... hyeah:

I've got 12 pairs of them and had originally intended to use for my surrounds.

I also have a couple of QED banana plugs that I ordered online from Cables and accessories for hi-fi and AV systems - hificables.co.uk

these nak plugs get pretty good reviews on the parts express forums. those guys are not that easy to please.

As I mentioned, these plugs are not meant for the people looking for 'branded' or premium plugs. It only for people who want cheap and value for money plugs without costing a bomb.

It does not matter if the plugs are made by some grubby crook in dirty shorts as long as he is providing VFM stuff, it's still better that some white collared crook sitting in a AC room wearing an expensive suit importing the same stuff from the grubby crook, label it with his name and selling it at 10 times the price.

Posting experience between Nakamichi and MDR Electronics Banana plugs.

I have got a set of MDR electronics and because an assumption I ended up ordering 7 single pieces (needed 7 Pairs) of the plugs at a rate of Rs. 160 per plug including shipping. Later I tried ordering another 7 pieces but due to an error in the payment system, could not get the order fulfilled. That is when I saw this thread and ordered a set of the Nakamichi plugs. I was able to order 12 pairs at the rate of Rs 46 per plug and received it in 3 weeks time.

If you remove the branding from both plugs, no one can tell the difference between the two.

Are the MDR guys sourcing the plugs from their Chinese counterparts and selling for a premium?

Yes Seby, it is quite possible. Nearly all the MDR stuff is from China including the cables. It is possible that the plugs are from China as well.

Both looks the same, but considering the price, the Nakamichi ones are more VFM.


In my above post one plug is from Nakamichi (which has visible red marking) and the other one is from MX.
