My new SL1210MK2

At last ... I got my Technics SL1210MK2. Price: Rs.50400. Seller: Roland Pro Music. Kolkata
Well its built like a TANK. 12.5Kg. I fitted it with a M44-7H. Well the cart is nothing exotic - but with the SL1210 they sing. Yesterday I was listning to Superuna and Shaan soundtrack(both new old stock). The music was total bliss.
The amp used is Kenwood Ka2200. Well for me happyness is SL1210.:ohyeah:

I had to wait for almost two months to get the TT after I placed an order. But it is worth it.
 
Amp is Kenwood Ka 2200. please go to this site for pic. Kenwood KA 2200, silver
It has a MM and MC pre-amp built in. But as it is very old the push button switches are not in good shape.:o Though the sound is OK (good high's and lows as it is an amp from '80s) nothing audiophile here.:indifferent14:
I am planning the buy Denon PMA 1500 for stereo. Any comment on this amp?
What I need is a powerful amp to drive my floorstanders. I prefer sound which is not to sparkling on the top end.
As for my new turntable the sound is better than my old SL-D3. I think this is due to better arm construction of the 1210. I can find a little more detail from my old and new LP's. Though this dust and cliks and pops are sometimes really a pain in the...
 
Congrats. Change the Cartridge to a better one. There are many choices available. SL-1200 is one hell of a workhorse.

Congrats on your new purchase. Try Shure cartridge as it is a very Highly recommended brand and do full justice to your TT.

I purchased Denon 710 AE from Profx shop at Kolkata. I am pretty happy and satisfied with it.
It would be helpful to have the anti-static brush to take care of the clicks and pops of your vinyl. Please inquire from the guy from whom you purchased your TT if he could procure them. If so, along with me some more people would also be interested.

why dont you guys get together and order the antistat brush from elusive disc?

It at a decent price there. Plus, consolidated shipping will save you mucho monies. Also, they offer a 10% discount if your order exceeds USD 500...

I think I will by a M97xe from Shure. It is available in Calcutta. Any other suggestion for a good MM cart? Audio technica is not available here.
 
The M97xE is THE BEST bet in its price range. I have found from personal experience that the Shure carts mate very very well with the Technics turntables.

What about AT91 (Audio Technica)? Asking price is Rs.2200/- in Calcutta.
Does anybody have any idea about Cambridge Audio 640p phono pre? Asking price in Calcutta is Rs.7500/-. Is the price at par with other cities?:rolleyes:

Little late -but congrats on the new TT. What speaker are u using. And also colud u please briefly elaborate on your LP collection. It is always good to know about collection of old glory- and so much is still available in kolkata.

Further it is good to know about another audio shop in kolkata- we have so little options . What other stuff they keep ?
