Hi
I'm looking to replace the (2x20KA,16mm,D type shaft) volume pot of my beloved nad 302 amp as I can t stand the scratchy sounds of the old one anymore. I've cleaned it at times but only helps for a little while.
I researched on the internet and didn't find any pot of this type except some with other shaft types. The thing is I would love to replace it with something better. So i thought of the possibility of using an alps rk27 series (where I could find 20KA AND D type shaft 1pcs Alps RK27 20KA 20K Log A Volume Dual Potentiometer Half Shaft Japan | eBay) BUT it wouldn't probably fit the pcb due to bigger size and different pin spacing (i attach photo).
So as I continued my research I came by this: Dact Type 21 Stepped Attenuator Potentiometer 20K D Shape Shaft | eBay " dact type" stepped. I could say I find the 21 steps not very satisfying but I could live with that.
These are my questions:
1.Do you too believe that I can't use the 27mm alps one?
2. Would using the " dact type" be a good idea in terms of quality and durability?
I would be very happy to help me in this as I'm kind of newbie.
Thanks.
