NAD T748 is available at lenbrook (authorized dealer) in Singapore for S$599 which is equal to inr 26356/-, the usual price is S$999. hope its a very good deal?

this makes me a thought of replacing my yamaha RXV-465 and NAD306 with T748 for both music and movies.

my friend is travelling singapore next week so he can carry them while returning by first week of April.

i indent to pair psb image speakers with NAD T748 and my usage is 50% music and 50% movies

here is my quires

1. Is this a right decision of replacing my current avr and amp with NAD T748
2. Need to know how much will be the custom duty

With a GST return and a proper bill, don't think you have to pay any duty. The duty was/is calculated as 30% over and above 30k.

I do not think this is a right buy. In case you want to replace your AVR you should go for a better AVR and in my opinion the least is 757 which has mdc which will help you in future3 upgrades. Further you are only looking at reducing the clutter but in my opinion the 306 will be by far the better for music.

thanks mate

i know 757 has got MDC but the price is not less than 100k which is out of budget. i will do audition of T748 before taking a final decision.

If you go for NAD AV receiver, you should be first convinced that you are okay with minimal features and look for more on the audio quality. If you are 100% convinced about that, then you can very well look for T748.
You must be aware that similar priced AV receivers offer more power and features. First get convinced with this philosophy of minimal features and more sound quality. If you have doubts, then don't go for T748 as there are other models offering more features.

Having said that, T748 can sound powerful enough for a medium seized rooms. Though the specs of T748 might not look bright as compared to Denon 1913/1612 or Yamaha RX-v473/RX-V573, but it can easily beat all these models when it comes to amp section.
For example,
T748 is rated only at 80 watts per channel (2 channels driven, 20Hz - 20khz)
The above figures are only with 2 channels driven, but when you make all the 7 channels to be driven, T748 can drive with less strain, but other models (1613 or RX-473 or even RX-673) might get shutdown due to amp protection getting engaged. In one of the reviews, I read that T748 have better coolling sections and runs lot cooler compared to other brands. This only indicates that they have better amp section. If you still want to stick with NAD, I personally prefer T757.
