Naim Nait XS 2

that means - the "noise" can be heard by you without taking your ear close to the volume pot ?

can it be heard over the din of the music ?

what i am trying to say is - sometimes when things are new - we tend to look for things that "shouldnt be ".

if still not convinced then - ..

please talk to your dealer and ask them.

I am not aware ( or have not noticed or havent cared to notice) any noise from my Naim Nait 5i..

one other option could be to contact Naim customer support ( naim website ). They are helpful folks.

regards

Does it have an analog volume knob? Can't see on the pictures, but that is surprising for this day and age.
Yes, NAIT amps have volume knob. When using remote for changing the volume, the electric motor inside turns the volume knob.

Tried it. Muting or unmuting doesn't affect the noise. I think its from the motor inside.

I think you hear the motor noise when you change the volume through remote ONLY. It should not be a problem. Even I too hear (feeble) it from a distance of 6 feet when there is no music played (and changing the volume through remote). When playing the tracks, I hear the noise only if I keep my ears close to the volume knob. I think you need not worry about this. It is just a motor making noise when operated.

Yes the noise comes when I change volume using remote only and your observations concur mine. I googled also and looks like this is common with all naim amps. Thanks
