Running an optical cable that far from PC to AVR seems too long..

Tricky situation..Best is to look for alternative solutions.. Get an Android TV box IMO..You can keep the PC for downloads and have an external HDD to play downloaded content from media player..

Even if I manage to run the cable will it cause quality loss. I have also run LAN cable from Receiver to PC desk through electrical conduit, so guessing it might be given a try but only if it works properly once connected.
