Hi Guys,

I am newbie from Chennai and new to LED TV market and this is the first time planning to buy a LED TV.

My requirement is

1. FULL HD
2. Bigger Screen 42 -47"
3. Screen Mirroring
4. Budget price <60 -65 K

I have shortlisted the model SONY KDL-46W700A , LG 47LN5400...

Which shop in Chennai to get a good deal or any referral and contact number please

also is it advisable to buy it in grey market Chennai?

Guys please help me...thanks in advance!!

Hi

Firstly remember an LED TVs lifespan is anything between 3-5 years and hence you should look for something that has good warranty and which fits your budget.

Do Window shopping at Croma / Vijay Sales / E Zone and see different TV models...most important check the number of inputs and connectivity options like HDMI, USB, Component Video, Analog connections, audio out etc...you don't want to end up spending a lot and later on know you cannot add your DVD player or set top box.

Next and the most important is to see different TVs on same channel, watch discovery or nat geo see the blues, red and greens and see what appeals to your viewing angles and pleasure....test the TV from different angels of viewing...next is sound output...a TV having a front soundbar is better else you end up amplifying your TV all the time....

I did the same and finalised on Toshiba which had multiple connectivity options, 3 years warranty and appealed in all aspects....Vijay Sales was selling it 5-8% lower than MRP but I got the same warranty and model for almost 25% less with my local dealer.

If you have dealt with the grey market before and know some people then go ahead..as you may know goods will be cheaper but no warranty.

Hope this helps'

Vasanth & Co sells @ the cheapest price in chennai.... Try Jayam & Co also if you shortlist Toshiba.... Toshiba 50L2300 is also around 65K when i last checked with them

Dear All,

I read tons of reviews on the internet / google and found a link which explained LCDs, LEDs, PLASMAS etc and the difference and lifespan...you too can find the same and see for yourselves....the good OLD bulky TV yes did last for atleast 10-20 years

Kind Regards

are you serious. lifespan between 3-5 years. how can it be so less.

thats completely bogus fake claim.

my old lcd running since 8years without any problems .. dont trust bogus people

but in longer run.. some 3 4 dead pixels might come

LCD and LED are two different things.

Yes, LED Tvs doesn't long like previous Tvs.
So keep an eye out on that.

LED and lcd are the same and infact LED emitters have a higher life and rarely fail compared to the CCFL which begins to darken as they age leading to non uniform screen.
