Hi,
I am planning to buy this product its recent launch from sony india..the same product also known as HT M7 in australia...

HT-M5 : Home Theatre Component System : Home Theatre System : Sony India

i wanted to know if someone tried this product..,kindly let me know the review especially the bass punch feel.
The earlier model HT-DDW5500 was lacking the deep bass feel even with two subs..so wanted to know all about this latest product from sony (HT M5)

Thanks

IMO, you have better options than this sony HT. From the specs, it even does not support HD audio decoding. And how can it deliver 1580W from 175W PSU?

Baiju, Didn't you know that they have magicians? Ask them to churn out 2000W from same powr supply and they will do it.:D . i always felt that Sony could not give deep bass, the bass is boomy.By the way, Creative X fi is working well and my wife uses it more than myself.

If you sincerely want our opinion then please junk your plan to buy Sony HT-M5. You can get much better sound at that price. If you are gonna spend 50k then I suggest you to buy an AVR and separate speakers.
Apart from Audiophile grade sound quality, You will get HD audio decoding support, Audyssey Automatic Sound calibration, capability of using 2 sets of speaker (Zone 1, Zone 2), Better stereo setup using separate Book shelf/floorstanders, network functions AirPlay, DLNA, Internet radio, burr brown DAC and loads loads of benefits ..........

Just read the posts in forum, shortlist some components and then ask us..... we are happy to help....

Look for Onkyo 3500 HT, or Boston Acoustics Soundware + Denon 1613 or 1313 recievers.. Far better than the Sony HT and comes in the same price range

I demoed this model. This is from Sony's muteki range. truly speaking, don't waste your money on this product which is costing 50K. When I demoed this product, sound was quite boomy, music presentation was not as crystal clear as Yamaha or Denon would produce.

50K is a very good budget to build your HT/stereo setup.

Although lookwise it is fancy but rather purchase an AVR worth 25-28K and rest of the amount on speakers and I am sure you would have an amazing sounding machine.

I had Sony GNZ9D which mentions PMPO of 6000 watts whereas if I turn up the volume ti higher side, it starts sounding boomy and cracking.

I have used both Denon1612 and currently own Yamaha RXV473. Believe me it sounds amazing.just take the demo and see yourself.
