For my bedroom with viewing distances of 7ft and 5ft,I kept the Toshiba 40Pb20 in mind.
So all users of the 40PB20,please post screen shots or give ur experiences regarding the following:
1)Picture and sound quality and no motion lag.
2)Quality of 720p and 1080p videos seen on it.
3)HD and esp. SD channels from DTH operators
4)Gaming via PC.(How do I connect it?)
How good is the after sales in Kolkata.
I have mentioned some first hand points in your other thread, however here they are again:
I bought Toshiba 40PB20 @ 36K with a Philips DVD free (Yet to receive the Philips DVD) on 27th Aug.
My Take:
a. Its a Value for Money Device supporting 1080p
b. Plays almost all Video formats I have (28 it claims)
c. Connects Pen Drive or Hard Drive
d. Has 2 HDMI's (you can connect either for Gaming): Either with HDMI Out or if in case your PC / Laptop does not have HDMI Out - use a Converter for Video & Use a Audio Cable (RCA / 3.5 MM) to push Audio to the LCD, else connect the VGA Port of Computer to VGA Port given at the back of the LCD & Connect Audio as I have described before.
e. In terms of Audio out - Has just (1) 3.5 MM Headphone Out Port (which looked to be as RCA at first) and a Toslink Port
f. Even when the Headphone is plugged in, the built-in speakers don't go off (It was surprising to me, This is my 1st LCD so I don't know if LCDs are meant to work like this.. The Sony Wega I have shuts off the inbuilt speakers the moment I plug Headphones in).
g. The Body looks plasticity at the back & on the front bezel (Contract Manufactured at Dixon in India, not by Toshiba)
h. Can't move the Screen left or right when mounted on base (at least I couldn't)
User manual quality, cable etc all look Value for Money kind stuff (Did not want to use the word "Cheap")
I don't have answers to all the ques you have asked above since my unit isn't "fully installed" as yet. I will be connecting Tata Sky+ HD & a Sony Mini Hifi I have.
Will answer these as time goes by and I have used it a bit.
Let me know if you'd want to know anything in specific.
Cheers!
