Need suggestion on BA XS 5.1 speaker placement

hi guys,
i ordered BA XS 5.1 + pioneer 323K.
Here is the current setup of my tv cabinet with LG HTiB.

Right now there is 4' gap between FL & FR.
I have two options when i get my new speakers -
1. maintain the same gap as it is now (~4 feet) or
2. Increase the gap to 8'-9' ;
2a. buy speaker stands and place them next to either side of cabinet or
2b. mounting them on the wall behind the tv cabinet.

The width of tv cabinet, end to end, is a little less than 8'.

Would be very interested to hear your experience with different gaps b/w front speaker..

Would wall-mounting reduce the effect in any degree (speaker being right next to the wall)?
If anyone has purchased matching speaker stands for XS5.1, it would be great if they can share the vendor/site details. thx.

just to add, the viewing distance will be about 8' from the tv.
