Need suggestions for a 55/65 inch reliable Led Tv?

I did extensive demo and bought this. Yet to install. If you don't want to spend on oled (perfect but pricey) / qled (not worth) then X90H is a great option with fald, hdmi 2.1 for price to performance & features. If no gaming x95G is super, but stocks running out.

Thanks. I am set on buying this tv but only one thing is bothering me. After reading few reviews on amazon, people saying that “this tv is not good for viewing sd/hd cable content”. I am worried as my parents only watch cable content like news, drama, movies. Maybe couple days in a week some netflix or other streaming apps. Should i be worried? I also tried visiting sony and asked the guy to play some cable content. He straight up denied. He said he can show me recorded videos through pendrive but no cable content. He played some 4k videos through external source. I also checked out lg oled, next to sony 9000 the lg was not that bright, but the blacks were very deep. I walked out feeling more confused thinking will it be worth getting the sony for mostly cable content?

I had checked 720p , 1080p & 4K clips from my pen drive and they looked great. 720p I guess will not be perfect on any 4Ktv
I no longer use cable settop box but I can check news, movies etc from Disney hotstar, Sony LIV etc during weekend, after my installation tomorrow and can comment.
HD cable signal should be better than streaming for PQ ? Also Sony upscaling should be fine I guess

Set top box / cable content looks decent on X9000H (The upscaling is good not great). I won't say it looks amazing because it doesn't but high nitrate 1080p or 4k content looks great. No complaints there.

I somehow think that Netflix from Tv native app looks much better & also can do Dolby Vision. My Nvidia Shield and AVT is older versions so cant do Dolby vision. Digital content from NAS looks great for 4K and nice for 1080p but dependent on the file. Custom mode with medium settings for most features was best for me. Dolby Vision bright for Netflix DV content.

Anything below 1080p is a problem and the upscaling is just ok but not enjoyable.

Somehow Hotstar & Sony Liv streaming doesn't look great. I guess their signal is too compressed (especially live news) because i have a 100 mbps broadband and Netflix / Amazon on same connection using Nvidia Shield looks amazing. So got to be these 2 streaming services issue. Don't have cable tv so cant know if that's better.

Gaming is great in HDR but will know more after getting the X Box Series X in early next year, which is why I bought this Tv for HDMI 2.1

So if you are looking for great upscaling I think the Sony X95G from 2019 should be better as many members and reviews have pointed out. Also there seems to be slight issue of banding in some content other than 4K, so again maybe an upscaling issue. I had read it in a review and so maybe my brain is searching for it !!

Overall for 135K its a good TV set in 65 inches. Movies was not my focus as I watch them on a projector so I didn't go the OLED route, also not sure how well they upscale content below 1080p.

Thanks to all the members who gave advice, shared pricing etc before this purchase. So thought of sharing the initial ownership review.

After thorough research i have finalised i am getting oled. Lg cx/c9 or sony a8g/h. My parents bedroom is not that bright lit. Now i am planning on visiting few stores and try my weak bargaining skills to get the best price. Will update once i finalise. The only thing that i need to decide is between 55 or 65 inch size. My dad saw the cx yesterday he was sure that 55 is perfectly fine for him but I want to get 65. Coz i might bring that tv to our living room sometime next year, so i can hook up my play station. Lol

I am not after the latest and greatest, even last year's models are fine.

You will definitely get a 65 inch TV well within 1 lakh. We purchased a Samsung AU 7700 crystal 65 inch display recently for around 96k after the so called discount on mrp from the Chroma store. Plus there is ₹6000 cashback after 3 months. I got ₹ 2000 cash for our old malfunctioning 42 inch LG TV. So finally it worked out to around approx 88k including gst.
I too am not very picky about the display, but it is quite decent with a very intuitive interface and a decent remote. It does support HDR and eARC.
Samsung Qled & "Frame" series, 65 inch will be over a lakh.

Buying 4K will be future proof. Do consider Sony, Panasonic TVs which are reputed to have better upscaling ability.

Panasonic India regional manager suggest me for TCL/hisense as Panasonic is not manufacturing TV they are outsourcing from either of these....

But Panasonic picture processing is very good. However Panasonic TV is hard to find now. The brand is vanishing in India in TV segment.

Panasonic as a brand is going downward in India. It’s getting risky to invest in their products. Panels of Panasonic for India is different from Europe.

Their picture processing for movies are very good though. Skin tone, sky colours are amazing and not oversaturated.
