Hello ,
I have a 55" 4K UHD 55MU6470, in my hall and i want to setup a 5.1 home theater system into it, recently i was planning to buy yamaha yht 2910 or 1840.
I will mostly use it to watch 5.1 movie from either HD DTH or USB or Amazon etc, but will also like to listen to some music, my hall is not much big either around 15x10, Please suggest my any good system i could also increase my budget to 40-42k.
Bass and music should be great Bluetooth, blue ray DTS Dolby surround and other thing should be there.
Also most of my movies will be from USB with mkv file format, av receiver should play it too.

Hi,
Wecome to hfv.
receiver should play it too
You wanted your AVR should play directly mkv files(u mean Video files thru usb) or through TV and ARC method?

Bass and music should be great

Nobody can judge your ears. You have to Audition to find out which one is great to your ears.

Every thing comes according to your budget.

Did you auditioned any 5.1 system at sales/showroom outlets.

Try to audition according to your budget and short list few models so that our FMs trained ears can guide you to narrow down.

AVR and speakers put together if your budget is limited fot 40 to 42k you have only few options as mentioned below.

AVR-
Denon 540Bt
Pioneer vsx 531/ vsx 330
Yamaha HTR 2071
Yamaha HTR 3067,

HTIB -
Pioneer htb 074
Onkyo hts 3800
Yamaha YHT 2910/1840

Speaker package -
Denon 2020
Denon sys 5.1 old model ( if you have luck).

My preference would be active sub preferably Denon sys 5.1 old model with Denon 540bt (as you mentioned Bluetooth is mandatory).or Denon 2020.

Google those models and find out about your matching requirement features try to Audition whether you are satisfied with that performance and decide.

PS : As you mentioned you have 4k TV check the AVR compatibilities for 4K front aswell.

Hi... There are three options here.

Option1. Budget is 40k max and you want to complete 5.1 system and don't want to upgrade and spend more money in the near future. ..... In that case, go with any htib like yht 2910 etc. Audition if possible. If audition is not possible, go with the one that has best reviews. Kalyan already gave good inputs.

Option 2. You can spend 40k now and .... You can spend more money in the next 6 months or 1 year....then you can buy Avr+Front speakers now. Later, you can add center, subwoofer, and surrounds step by step. This is a time taking process and cost more money. But this will give you a far more superior system compared to first one.

Option3. Most of the members love their audio video gear and they take good care. So if you buy used stuff from our forum members you get a better system in the same budget. Check FOR SALE BY OWNER section in this forum.

Thanks man,
To be honest i don't know anything about sound system, the last HT system i heard was sony iv-300 which was fine but its bass was too much, after going through many reviews i found about yamaha, pioneer, onkyo, I tried finding these companies showroom to hear atleast but most showroom keep only lg, sony, samsung. and the authorised seller dont put one for demo ( went to one shop). so choose yamaha 2910 since 1840 have passive speaker ( learned what it is later, also its bass is lower too)

if all can be there than it will be awesome :)

bluetooth is not mandatery (but presence would be good) since most of the music will be from youtube,

I have also heard HTib sold over online doesnt have warrenty ( heard about yamaha) is it true ?

Also what is the diff between HTIB & speaker package?
Can you also pls rank the htib based on their quality.

Also from where to buy and demo them in delhi.

Thanks again man

Speaker package has only speakers and nothing else. You need to add an amplifier and player. Htib has speakers + processing unit. You can directly connect it to your tv or settop box etc.

AVR though have USB input, it is limited to digital audio playblack only (MP3/FLAC/WAV) formats.. They don't have video decoding capability..

The least expensive device that can play all (most) audio & video formats is an Android TV Box.. There are many models aval on amazon.in (or) ebay.in for <=3K.. They support playback from pendrive / Hard disk too.. So, you will need to consider this device too in addition to your entertainment system..

Pick one that has more than 2 USB ports, 2GB RAM & 16 GB ROM.. Android 7.0 is the OS on most Android TV Boxes..

Some examples - https://www.amazon.in/Movo-MXQPRO-G...id=1528779314&sr=8-11&keywords=android+tv+box

Other members have provided various options for HTIB / AVR + Speakers.. Choose the one that suits your budget..

thanks everyone for the reply,

just one last question, since i have a smart tv, it let me choose the audio output i want to play the audio from, like i can connect my bluetooth headphone to tv and the tv speaker became silent and the audio only comes from the bluetooth headphone,

My question is just like headphone can i also choose the yamaha yth 2910( i will buy it ) from the sound option{if connected through HDMI ARC}?

cause that way i can play my movies from the tv usb, Also will it support 5.1 channel movies from the tv usb ?
since most of my contents will be from the tv apps like you tube, prime etc.

But i will connect my airtel HD dth to av receiver directly.

YouTube, Amazon do not support 5.1 sound. They are stereo only. Which means if source movies are stereo, you will not get 5.1 sound unless you use fake 5.1 like Dolby pro-logic and the likes. As you have not mentioned your entire budget, it would be difficult for forum members to suggest systems.
Also you might want to give some details of how big your room is as it will play a big role in what kind of system will suffice.

For prime 5.1 you need to get Nvidia Shield

@King_of all

Welcome to HFV.

Audition is important so that you are aware of the performance capability of the system...carry your kind of music or movie clip (disc or pendrive) and check different systems.....if this system will be used for everything (music/movies) better to check different brands....you may need to increase your budget...

Dont rush with the decision to buy and repent later....check how many digital or analog inputs you want...features....check what output connections the TV has...etc.....

See the brands and models and then read reviews.....see the actual price then check with several dealers who offers the best....

There is a dedicated Yamaha owners thread where first hand info and user reviews would be posted...please go through that...similarly there are such threads for Marantz, Denon and Pioneer......

All the best....

HDMI-ARC is limited to lossy surround formats.. If you were to play a movie with 7.1 DTS HDMA / Dolby True HD (lossless), the ARC function will send the lossy (DTS/Dolby) back to AVR..

Best would be to connect a media player to AVR directly for audio decoding and the let the video to TV..

hello everyone,
I have brought the Yamaha 2910 as per suggestion of my friend over here( even without hearing its sound). when i heard it first time it was better than sony iv300, Also i watch a tut on the you tube on how to connect the HDMI arc and it is working great ( just sometime when the video volume is low so it id ) but apart from the i am able to play almost everything from my smart tv ( amazon prime, usb video with 5.1, youtube and jio app too)bass is fine, but i think i will need to change the sub-woofer in the future, apart from that everything is fine,

thanks everyone again for your help

congratulations on the purchase ... whats the total price??
your reciever has usb input and it supports DTSHDMA and TrueHD. Those are nice features to begin with.
Youtube, prime, etc gives low quality audio. Any judgement now is too early. It takes time to set it correctly. Test it with some blueray discs or blueray rips. Also try FLAC or 320kbps MP3 music files. Keep escaping from upgrade bug as long as you can :D:D:D:D
A tip for your future: In any case you feel the need of upgrade. Upgrade the speakers. Dont touch the avr. It is good enough.
