New Panasonic P42V30

Though VT30 is the best Panasonic ever produced till now, price might be a small deterrent. It is fully loaded with best features that would put all others to shame. Check hdtvtest.com for full review.
Hence instead of waiting further and spending more than my budget, I brought last seal packed piece yesterday of p42v20. Hope that this would fulfill the expectations I had developed after reading all the gr8 reviews of this marvel.

I need a new P42V20D Tv. I am from Hyderabad and enquired all the shops. They are saying taht the model has been stopped. Can anyone of you say weather it is really stopped or not? If it is stopped what would be the alternative model in Plasma

Sorry, for asking this question anandg but, how do you know that this model is stopped?Because, it was released 6 months to 1 year back and according to guarantee policy of Panasonic if there is any defect in the ongoing models they will replace the piece. So, considering 3 years guarantee policy if any V series model is found defective, how can the company replace the same tv. This was the reasoning given by one of the Panasonic showroom manager in Hyderabad. Just little curious about this model, that's why asking this question. Not to challenge your knowledge though. Please reply anandg

Thanks,
Ravi

Your understanding is correct. In many cases the TVs share many components across models so the replacement of components will not be a problem. Further in case they really have a problem which they unable to sort out they will offer you a higher model.

Checkout croma and negotiate hard.
The 50" is selling for 78k in bangalore according to kittu. You can get that instead of the 42" if it costs 60k!

Hi Members,
While I was looking for P42V20D(got bit delayed), I was told by the panasonic showroom in jayanagar and some other dealers that P42V20D is stopped and is replaced by P42V30.

Though I am not able to find this info in any of the panasonic india websites. I would request members here to post their info and quality of this new model as compared to time tested P42V20D which would help us decide if it is worth buying.

Thanks

Hi, the panasonic 2011 models are VT30, ST30, GT30.........ST30 has been launched in India, others will follow soon. There is no replacement for the 2010 model V20, however VT20 has been replaced with VT30. while all these are 3D models, the V20 despite being a 2010 model still holds its ground as one of the best 2D tv's you can buy. Hope that helps.

Hi, the V20 is a 2010 model which is still available in most panasonic shops. However the 2011 2D models are U30 and X30. The 2011 3D models are VT30, ST30 and GT30. If you do not need 3D and do not mind a 2010 model, then V20 is your best bet if available. It still is a kick ass 2D tv. If unavailable then you can go for the U30 or X30, depending on your budget.
