Proud new owner of 55LM8600!!

Finally after a lot of research and comparing from all possible aspects with different brands, I decided to go with LG 55-inch LM8600 and bought one last week itself. Was a tough one between this and HX850 but the overall rounded features of this TV tilted the scales in LM8600's favor!

Items I got inside the box:

1. 4 3d glasses and 2 dual pay glasses.
2. 55-inch TV screen and its stand.
3. One conventional remote and One magic motion remote.
4 User manual guide.
5. AV cable and cable connectors.

I have installed this TV in my living room and have been using it for a few days. And I have decided to make a first hands-on experience video which I will upload and share it on the forum very soon. Damn excited to explore my new beast since its the biggest TV I have ever used in my house:yahoo:!

Congratulations. What was the damage? ;)

Thank you so much. So far I havent watched many 3d movies but yes tried a couple of titles which I got with the TV itself and watching those 3d titles was pretty decent!

Im in a mist of pride right now as an owner of this LG 3d TV and it feels great to share my experience with you all here! Ill post the pics of the 3d titles I have got with TV as well.

Congrats on the purchase bro.....Good to see someone else getting lm8600 as well,,,u got a better deal with me...so how is the picture quality and all....

Can you please share that how many pre installed apps are available in this smart tv set? Have you tried to access the internet?

Whats your viewing distance??

BTW congrats..

I had originally planned to use it wall-mounted in the bedroom but with a viewing distance no more than 6 feet, it didn't work out feasibly. I have now shifted it to my living area where the distance is approx. 8-9 feet and the viewing is comfortable.

Moreover, I thought it will be better to maintain a recommended viewing distance especially while viewing 3D because the last thing I want is TV viewing headaches:cool:

The fact is that not many apps come pre-installed with the TV. I am more in love with the whole UI at the moment rather than the number of apps available because I realize that most of them will be used for leisure aka games..

Yeah I followed your thread for quite a while myself...And I wouldn't necessarily say that I got a crackerjack of a deal because you shelled out just 5K more than me at the time you purchased your LM8600. But the dealer has promised to give me extra discount if I decide to purchase an LG HT setup within the next 6 months so let's see..

THE HANDS-ON EXPERIENCE VIDEO !!! :yahoo: -

So I promised everyone here that I am going to make a first hands-on experience for my 55LM8600 and true to my word, here it is fellas!!

LG LM8600 Hands On Experience - YouTube

Was a bit finnicky whether it has panned out ok or not so I leave it to you guys to decide...
Excellent review. Waiting for a review on the basics of the TV, picture quality, light bleeding (if any), sound quality, etc.

This one video took a lot of time to finish so don't expect a second one so soon. I have calibrated the TV's picture settings after scouring various forums and I like the visuals that I have seen till now on the TV. And I will give you this much, the sound is pretty much passable so I will look at installing an HT setup as soon as my budget allows.
A bit of bleeding around the left edge but nothing significant to annoy me..
