OLED 3D tv

Yes LED was supposed to come 3 years back ....so you do the math

Till that time of launchnormal pannels will be available 30% of above pannels!!!

Perhaps companies spearheaded by Samsung & Sony are coming out with their new technologies, which apparently are faster, brighter and most importantly cheaper to produce.
OLED perhaps may the technology that never really gets it day in the sun. Apart from a 11" Sony monitor, I have not come across a single commercially available model in the market.

to really appreciate 3D you will need a big screen sizes(like 55" and above), and since oled need high current (unlike high voltage in case of plasma), this becomes a problem in large displays due to the ohmic losses in conductor

so you will see smaller tvs with oled in near future in market but large displays(above 50") will take time

AFAIK, The primary benefit of OLED displays over traditional LCDs is that OLEDs do not require a backlight to function, and consume less power during operation. OLED displays are expected to be more efficiently manufactured than LCDs and plasma displays

check out the link in my 1st post

OLED doesnot require a "backlight" because they are the light source
,they are efficient but still consumes power ,they operate at low voltage hence the need for higher current
the problem i mentioned is a practical issue pertaining only to large size panels (you can already see smaller sized displays in market).Research is going on various methods to mitigate this issue
