Panasonic 2012 Models[Plasma or LED's]; Group Buy in Chennai

looks like a mass campaign is required to shoot panasonic down. :-). If I don't get this by first week of next month, am going with Sony.

I will suggest that you flood the panasonic fb page and their officers' email.

Same is the case in hyderabad, now we r getting 2011 models in 2012, in another few months 2012 models in 2013,but the prices are always kept high, this is more of a strategy by Panasonic.

Plasma TV's do not sell. Hence there are unsold stocks. But market compulsions drive the company to introduce new models. When they find the new models are moving at the expense of old unsold stock, an artificial scarcity is created.

Sometimes the scarcity is also created to keep prices inflated and generate more interest (no stock means goods are flying off the shelves, right?).

Sometimes it could be a reason to phase out the product line.

We are still long away from 2013 models and their availability in India. The prices do not crash till the next year models are widely available...

2013 plasma models, if Panasonic continues to manufacture plasma next year, will sneak around April and more readily available by June. Note that UT50 was available only by Aug, 2012. There is still no sight of 65ST50.

I have contacted Panasonic (via email) and to my surprise they replied and later called me. They also provided cell number of area sales head and said he will call me.. No calls yet.. Even if he calls, I am sure he is going to give some excuses (like nuclear disaster in japan) or promise to arrange the set for MRP..

I am going out of town for a weak, and when I returns I am going for some other model.. 51e550 or 40hx850 or some really low priced brands like sansui or videocon :-)

Any updates? I have been away for some time. Did you get any response from Panasonic?

As I read 50ST50 at 92 -97 is dealer prices to us . Is there any special price from panasonic ?
Since we are bypassing dealers and asking panasonic directly we should get TVs at even better prices ,say 10-15 % on dealer prices , isn't so ?

Can you chk with abirami and find the best price they can offer if its a GB? Any idea what offer they have got for 50"?

I think all of you guys should write to Panasonic and tell them that you are seriously displeased with the lack of stock and switching to rival manufacturers. That may(?) do some trick.

Subject Complaint - Non Availability of Plasma TV

To,

The Head
Panasonic India Customer Care
India.

Dear Sir/ Madam,

I am writing to you today, to express my utter dissatisfaction over the non availability of Plasma Television, that your esteemed organization has been masters in terms of technology.

I, along with few of my other friends, have been looking out for buying 50 ST50 Plasma TV, in Chennai, TamilNadu, over the last 5 months. During this period, I have had made many calls,
every fortnight to your brand shops to enquire on the product availability. But there has been poor or no response to these calls and all your reps promise are that the products will arrive in a week,
this month, next month so on.

We have in fact made few calls to local sales heads/manager, who promise us to return calls, but fail to do so.With an attitude of such kind, the trust factor that some customers have; including
myself, is slowly diminishing

Whilst there are a quite a lot of products that are spread over the market, by various other brands, that I /We can still choose from, I/We still prefer to stick with your brand, which shows the
confidence in your brand, but this is in-fact being taken otherwise.

Therefore summarizing, I would like to know if you would be able to supply the brand that I have been looking for and that how long would you take to confirm so.

Looking forward for an earlier reply,

Lakshminarasimhan
