So it is true...thanks for the link...Now my question to you is that even if they are shutting down plasmas in future...will you advise me to go for a pana plasma on sheer PQ brilliance? Since my requirement is best PQ should I opt for a Samsung Plasma or maybe a LED just based on the fact that Pana may be shutting down?
What Im trying to say is that, even if they do shut down, it won't affect me, right? The TV should go on for 5 yrs at least depending on usage? The only pitfall is that resale value could be nil. COrrect me if Im wrong & tell me what you would have opted for if you were in my place looking for a big tv with excellent PQ...
thanks again
I think you are being too optimistic about the product being lasting for 5 years without any service requirements.
My VT20 has developed a problem within 11 months from purchase and needs to be replaced. Due to non availibility of stock i am awaiting a replacement.
What clearly needs to be understood here is that my set is being replaced as the Panel has developed a technical issue. Panasonic panels are manufactured in Japan and they will have to send the panel to Japan for repair and then bring it back which logistically is more then cost of a new set hence the replacement.
Relevant point for you here is that If panasonic shuts down Plasma manufacturing then in future either you will get a refund or a LED/LCD Tv as a replacement.....your set wont be repaired if there is an issue with the Panel.
