Hello everyone,

I was looking for a good budget 3D bluray player & came across PHILIPS BDP2385 however didn't find any feedback/reviews on the forum. Hence wanted to check if someone happened to buy this & your comments on the same? Looks like this is one player with loaded features post Samsung BD-H6500 which is no more available anywhere in Bangalore atleast.

Looking for following features - inbuilt WiFi, Bluetooth & inbuilt apps.

Please suggest if i should be looking at any other products too. Max budget 10k.

Beware of Philips product they are mainly cheap products from China with hardly any quality control...........I have a very bad experience with them.......

Try getting a Pioneer BDP-170 or BDP-180 from the grey market.
Not aware of the current pricing though...

Nothing to beat the Pioneer ones if you can extend your budget by a few thousand bucks. The BDP-180 should be available for ~ 14000/- and comes with 4k upscaling.

The Sony BDP-6200/7200 are feature laden, but no sign of Sony introducing them here anytime soon.

The other alternative is the Panasonic BDT-230, but stocks are always a problem.

Thank you Guys, That leaves me with following options.

Pioneer BDP170 @ 10k in Grey market, BDP180 - out of Budget. But what would i really miss out when compared to 170?
Philips 2385 @ 8.5K
SONY S1500 @ 4k sealed pck thanks to diwali offers lot of them in second hand market :) but its missing builtin WIFI feature.
Panasonic BDT-230 out of stock in almost everyplace in Bangalore, same goes with Samsung BD-H6500. When inquired they say next year 4k Players are getting lunched. Hence these models are getting discontinued.

So been said that it narrows down to SONY which i want to keep it as last option as i was using SONY HT earlier & knows the look and feel of the interface. Philips is back up option just in case i'm not impressed with Pioneer 170. I have read through so many reviews about it & have heard only +ve response. However would like to hear it myself & get a feel of the interface too.

Any place in Bangalore where i can audition it & can get a better deal ???
Plzzzz suggest!!!

People, can any please let me know what is grey market? Where is it available? Is it something like olx?

Any product sold unofficially that is without the official import done by company or its registered distributors and does not carry manufacturer warranty and maybe available without invoice or just having seller warranty is called grey market.

I postponed the buying of the player & instead bought a SmartBox :-)

2015 Newest MXQ TV BOX Amlogic S805 Quad Core Android: Amazon.in: Electronics

Has been using it for 2 weeks & found it good. Feature wise its loaded with all the possible connectivity & runs on Android 4.4 Kitkat. Got the option to download additional apps from Playstore too, Bluetooth connectivity is missing though.

Happy with the buy :-)

I bought BDP2385 last Thursday & since then I'm struggling to configure Wi-Fi & Miracast.. Philip Eng. Came today & did troubleshooting for 3hrs & concluded the device is faulty.. He also said this is a usual issue with this modle..

Philips Blu-ray Disc/ DVD player BDP2190 3D Blu-ray Disc playback DivX Plus HD USB2.0 Media Link

all positive reviews and does it support ntfs file system via usb ?

Thanks in advance
