and compared it with other models too, but looking for a video review or something on those lines, since a new model can't find much reviews on theseVery few use Pioneer and those select few would seldom upload a review video......my advice is to read the material of comparison between the 303 and 304 to know the noticeable difference then see a 303 review video to understand it...then you can perhaps ponder and decide to go for it....demo before purchase if possible...
that is the issue nobody here in pune is able to give me a 303 or 304 demo and I'm planning to get it online.

- how does a pioneer denon marantz sound (good for music / movies, soundstage etc)
- since this is a pioneer elite is it comparable to denon or marantz

Hi,
These models are pseudo Elite models ( MID RANGE )IMHO.
Elite models starts with SC LX which build like a tank.
If you are looking for budget "HT" purpose u can proceed with Pioneer without second thought.
But u will be disappointed if your primary listening habit is towards 'music only.'

the current rate I have been quoted is 64k for lx304, which is close to my budget of 60k for the receiver. I would have gone with denon 3600h but it is around 90k I believe. So around my budget I felt lx304 is pretty decent with features like imax and dialog enhancement etc.

Thanks no I haven't auditioned the Yamaha Aventage series, but saw the features looks like it doesn't have imax enhanced yet, but pioneer in feature wise is better than same range yamaha receivers.
Also I have pioneer fs22, bs22 and the center speakers so I wanted to go for pioneer receivers I thought it would match well than any other company.
Saying that I'm open to denon having heard good things about it for the home theatre experience.

- can I mix both wired and wireless setup from the same receiver if so how would I do it. Eg: Front (FS22), Center and BS22(front high) will be wired and the sub (once I get it), how do I connect a surround speaker as wireless to this setup
Also suggestion for sub matching to this pioneer setup, as pioneer sw10 is not available in India

Hello, Now that you have bought the receiver -- Can you please tell how do they sound? How do they fare w.r.t movies? And, music?
Congrats on your purchase.
Refer to the manual to check the connection options which can be made and used together.
Also the forum has dedicated threads for Pioneer / Yamaha / Denon / Marantz etc, you can post pics and a brief detailed review which would help the others as reference. The dedicated thread would also have information and first hand experience which can help you for optimal setup and tweaks.

Any one using the pioneer lx 503? I read some where that it does not have individual speaker crossover settings. Yes , I read the same on some AV forums. I think this feature is available only on high AVRs now. You may try Onkyo , I think they have this feature on mid range AVRs too. Not sure tho.

One of my friend also owns 304 and i have listened to it many times.
My impression abt it is that the D class amp power is clean but gets brighter as u stretch the volume,so careful speaker matching wd help.
Pioneer room eq sucks,so not using it.
Biggest minus is lack of individual speaker frequency setup,one has to select a single freq for all.
Remote tactile feel is quite ordinary compared to Denon.

I was also going to buy a new AVR and was debating between denon Avr -X2600H and Pioneer VSX-LX 304. I did a lot of research and product comparison but was not that helpful. I talked to most dealers and everyone suggested to choose Denon over Pioneer. Reason being Denon has good sound quality, good hardware quality and most trusted brand. Pioneer is bought by Onkyo and the biggest difference is the pricing, 9.2 channel Pioneer 304 is priced same as 7.2 Denon 2600h. This is kind of a trigger point why Pioneer is selling for cheap (55k-60k dealer price). Plus resale value for Pioneer will be less than Denon. Lastly most well-known brands are selling 9.2 ch AVR anywhere between 80K- 1.15 lakhs after discounts.
