Pioneer VSX-920-K - 7.1 Channel AV Receiver

Agree with Vinayaga there, the Ebay,In coupons are redeemable in Global Ebay as well and I too did that on my last transaction.

.... and vinayaga you are right too about the price logic. Yes, if this deal goes sour, we go for another one. :ohyeah:

ebay.in will usually mail you coupons for geb. Usually it is 5% or 10% with a maximum of 500 or 1000. For purchase exceeding 5000/- ebay has announced a friend gift scheme.

The price difference of avrs is really high. The mrp of pioneer vsx 920 is around 43k which is almost double that of geb.

Kaptan and Deepchand : There is a easy way to figure out the possibility of getting the receiver you ordered !

Go to ebay.com and look for the exact item that maps to the Global ebay item you ordered from the specific seller. Check the purchase history for the item and see if a purchase was made within 3 days of your purchase from the reseller, ie iccworld.

Got to ICC World, enter your PaisapayID as the tracking number and check if there is a entry created for it. Check the date for the purchase entry and it should match one of the dates in the ebay.com purchase history.

If your tracking entry is not made in ICCworld.com, wait for a little more time. In my case, the entry got made today and the buy date seems to correspond to one receiver bought from the original seller.

Its not a iron clad way to check, but atlest gives us more hope :-)

Hi Vinayaga,

Thank you once again.

I did check the purchase history for the item and at least 3 purchases were made within 3 days of my purchase, but I am not able to determine if any purchased by reseller iccworld since the purchaser names are asterisked.

Also I went to ICC World and entered my PaisapayID as the tracking number and there seemed no entry created for it.

Anyways, fingers crossed and staying

EDIT: Looks like it just got updated. The ICCWorld site does NOW show the Customer as (i2c) and Consignee (as me) details.

I have tried to check in the ICCworld. but there is no place to register ther.
How I can view the details????

Please help:sad:

Kaptan, I thought my instructions were clear. Just go to ICC World and enter your paisapay ID for the transaction in the tracking information box and see if the item is shipped. There is no need to register anywhere.

Kaptan, just go here ICC World. On the right hand you can see a box above which it reads "Enter the Airway Bill Number of your shipment" Enter your PaisaPay ID the box there. Your PaisaPay ID is in the title as well as in the body of the first email that you would have received after making the payment from Ebay. It would be a 10 or 11 digit number. Now enter that number in that box and see what happens.

Hope this helps.

Just thought I would share information. Im getting a Maxine 1kva transformer from Shaw's local Bangalore dealer for Rs 2850. Home delivered.

Hi Vinayaga and Deepchand. Pm me when you receive the product

Thanx

Hi Vinayaga,

I am just curious (anxious to be honest), can we be absolutely certain of getting the product from Ebay once I2C World Package Track (Paisapa ID) displays the Consignee as you?

The "Status" has not changed in a while, hence my question.

Thank you for your input buddy.

No, we can never be certain in stage one where it just shows the name. The item has to reach them from the original seller, that is where it becomes nearly certain ! They are very lazy in updating status and the next update for you might show that it has reached Mumbai ;) !!!

I have been ordering various items over the last few years from global ebay and have seen all kinds of situations. I have I once had a situation where it kept showing as under customs clearance and never reached me till the ebay timeout for refund kicked in :-)

Oh Yessss:yahoo::yahoo::yahoo::yahoo::yahoo::yahoo:

I have got the shipping details in ICCworld. My product is on the way:ohyeah::ohyeah::ohyeah::ohyeah:

I got the Receiver today. Connected it to the Maxine 1kv transformer and it came to life. Initial impression was that the sound was not as loud as my old Denon, but once I calibrated and setup the speakers using their auto calibration, the receiver came to life. :clapping:

Awesome sound and very neat looking receiver. For 18k plus another 3k for the tranbsformer, it is a awesome deal in every way. :yahoo:

General Thoughts for others who might want to order:

1. Was not happy with the packing. There was a slight outward bend on the air vent sleeve above the receiver, obviously, pressure had been applied from the sides. But once I pushed it down manually, it went back to shape.

2. ICCWorld cleared customs in two days in Mumbai and sent it via Blue Dart. I caled them today morning to get the Blue dart tracking number. Ordered on the 3rd of June and received on the 13th of June.

3. The Receiver takes a measly 100watts for most playback. When I drove it hard with a blu ray media and 5.1 speakers, it used up between 100w and 200w. So a 1kva transformer was probably a overkill. 500va would have ben more than enough, maybe 750va just to be safe.

4. The Maxine 1kva was home delivered by Shaw in Bangalore. They have a local rep in Bangalore who delivers and provides warranty. You can call Shaw in chennai to get your local rep in your state. Tried using a voltmeter to measure the output, was a dead 115v all the time. I tried to manually shut of the mains and fall back to the invertor and then switched on the mains again, the voltage fluctuated between 112v and 119v, completely within acceptable limit. :clapping:

Oh yes, one more thing. There was a concern if FM will work with the receiver given that we have odd frequencies and US has even frequencies. The Receiver moves at 1hz difference and picks up all the FM channels in Bangalore, but the antenna has to be really raised upto the top, otherwise it is weak at catching signals.

The receiver has been running non-stop for the last two hours and is now just a little warm at the top, nothing different than the old Denon that I had. So for folks who worry about the 50hz vs 60hz heating up the receiver can be at peace !

Vinayaga congrats. I want to know hoe the pioneer sounds. how is the sound quality. Is it punchy and blowing off your house???
