Planning a 4K UHD Smart TV for my living room.

Ignore my immediate previous post.(You had mentioned a different model on the previous page)

The model available on the employee site you were looking is the 2019 Samsung Frame QA55LS03RAKXXL (as you said) , its a QLED TV and is “edge lit” for sure, with micro dimming. As Marakk said about micro dimming, its nothing of importance.
Performance should be like the Q60R as far the specs go on paper.
Hope you have all your doubts cleared and you can make the purchase.
Thanks for your helpful advice.
Now if I take Frame TV out of the picture....
My choice will be between LG 49SK8500PTA or 55SM9000PTA and Samsung Q60R.
(49" because it will be my first preference due to limited space in my room)
Looking forward to your opinion on this please.

You don’t need to take the frame out, I was just mentioning its edge lit but so is Q60
If you can get the Q70 go for it otherwise in the options you have given-
1. Q60
- Might have better PQ than the frame but only a demo can tell, but as per specs it should be almost as same or slightly better.
I am putting Q60 on top as samsung advertises it as a QLED tv where as the frame as QLED certified although seems to be marketing tactics.

2.55” Frame
- Same as Q60 on paper
- 40W 2.2 sound vs Q60 2ch 20W
- One Connect Box, very beneficial in case of wall mounting plus no gap wall mount
- Same set of features as Q60
- you are getting it cheaper than Q60 I guess

3. 55SM9000PTA
Already mentioned its pros and cons
I agree IPS panels are not good but they are not as bad as people and reviewers make it to be IMO.

Now you can weight whats important for you and choose accordingly. We are here to help the decision is yours.

What is your opinion on LG O'led 55 B8 ?

I don't know whether it's been suggested or not: why don't you wait for the launch of OnePlus Tv?

It's a 55" QLED TV with 4k resolution. And as their mobiles, oneplus is insisting a unique TV Os with speed as underlying principle.

And we can be rest assured of QC......and priced below the likes of Samsung/LG/Sony.

Personally I am looking forward to OnePlus TV.... especially their 75" ones (if ever it get launched here in India....if not will get it from China)

What is your opinion on LG O'led 55 B8 ?

It was the best TV for 2018 by Rtings. I took one, but had to return it because Flipkart had sent a repacked box. If you won't be watching too much content with static logos and news, it'll serve you well. Getting a decent set now might be tough as now it'll be the last of the last stock left. Also, watch HDTVtest's review of Q70R published recently. See the brightness changes with subtitles. It's horrible. Unless anyone will be watching 4-5 hours every day of news, or a lot of soap operas with channel logos, OLEDs are the way to go. Metz has also launched their OLED here for 99,999 with 2 year comprehensive warranty. Since the panel is LG only, image quality is going to be mostly similar, except for software and processor level differences, and yes, lack of Dolby Vision, but then QLEDs don't have DV either, and DV implementation has been a hit or a miss in content. Sony had horrible DV implementation in 2018.

Go for it if you can get it. I got the 65C8 almost 3 months ago and its one of the top 2018 tvs you can have.I very well knew that the C9 was to be launched in 2 months but I bought it as I saved around 40-50k as compared to C9’s price and the PQ diff is marginal. Not to say that 2019 OLED’s are way superior, just marginally better.
Just make sure you don’t watch news / channels with big static logos all the time. I am not saying you can’t watch it on an OLED, just don’t put on the same channel for hours every day and you are good.
Plus don’t read about oled burn ins on google.
Edit- I guess you were looking for a living room tv? If the room is going to stay too bright then it may not be a good choice since OLED’s don’t go very bright. Moderate lighting is fine. As far as other tv’s are concerned ,don’t be bothered about the small imperfections, you won’t notice them unless you start looking for them.

One question which should have been asked in the beginning - what is your usage like?

Mostly News, soaps and movies.
But seeing the burn in issue ... I didn't want to take any chances and wanted to enjoy years of usage with a little peace of mind.... I brought the LG 55SM9000PTA today. Thanks for all forum member for their beautiful advice and guidance.

Finally brought the LG 55SM9000PTA.
Excellent tv. Awesome picture quality.
O"led like quality with outstanding picture depth
I got it for 1 lac quitting the free LG sound bar/SUB SL6Y since it didn't have Dolby Atmos.
Brought a Marantz 7.2 AV receiver NR1609 with Dolby Atmos.

Congrats on your new TV. I am also thinking of buying LG 55SM9000PTA. How is the black level? As it has less dimming zones, does it cause any blooming effect, if Full array dimming in on?

The 55SM9500 has more dimming zone ...they call it "full array local dimming pro". But unfortunately it is not available in India.
As for as the SM9000 is concerned it is a fantastic TV. The amount of blooming and negative effects of the lower dimming zone is not that much offensive it is quite acceptable if you see the image quality and colour depth. As for the black level ... this TV performs very well in average bright rooms. The black seems very promising. In dark rooms the blooming effect could be about10% irritating ...90% of the time is is not noticeable.

You mean even in dark room, only 10% of time, blooming effect is visible. It is not an issue, at least for me, because I always watch TV with some light in the room.
Actually, me too, after a research on web, trying to buy LG 49SK8500. The reasons are same as yours such as FALD, Multi HDR support, 40w speakers,......and due to room space, I prefer 49". But unfortunately, it is not available anywhere in stores. So I choose 55SM9000 as it is latest advance mode than SK8500. But the only thing which makes me hesitate is the lesser FALD zones. By the reply from you, as a user of the TV, I came to know that it is fantastic TV, if we watch it with a medium light in the room.
One more query, have you checked SD content? Who it is upscaled to 4k?

@ SIDEWINDER18X I came to know that this TV has SD content upscaling issue. That's why I asked in my previous post. Have me faced any? Please go through this link.

Forget about the critics and analysts. In the real world you can get a decent picture out of SM90
if you are watching tv content thru a HD pack.
Don't judge the TV thru poor non HD package from any service provider. I am using Tata Sky HD.
The results are amazing. I had a normal SD pack even after getting this TV for about 2 weeks.
After switching to the HD pack things were completely different. 720p looks like 1080p or better in most of the HD enabled channels now.
I am even getting Dolby Digital in most of the HD contents.
