Well, TV are cheaper there and some great budget FALD options too, such as Hisense H9F and TCL 6 series, but once you add customs and shipping, the cost escalates a lot. Plus, no warranty from the brand. I don't know what budget you have, but if you were eyeing one of the sets I mentioned or a Vizio alternative to those, add up all the costs and compare it with LG B9 or X950G.

55 inch tcl 6 series is 599 so that is 43k, shipping cost lets say 20k even then it's half the price of x9500g.

as for the duty fee as you can see from the transcription with the helpline, everything is included in the final price.

Go to checkout and place the order. It'll cost you 1.15 lac. Custom is also applied on the shipping cost. Dollar conversion rate they are using is 75 Rs. Just get a B9 from Indian retailers.

b9 s peak brightness is a concern. usage: 90% 4k hdr playback.

What's your ambient light situation? For moderately lit rooms, it'll be more than bright. Enough to cause eye strain even. There's a reason why it's the best TV according to Rtings. Yes, C9 is better. I took that, but B9 is still an OLED, which means that small highlight area get brighter than they would in a FALD set with higher brightness but low zone count. Reviews test 1% peak brightness, which is a pretty large area and it favors FALD sets as 50 zones are enough to perform decently in testing 1% without too much blooming. However, I'm content viewing, highlights are quite often smaller than 1%. OLEDs excel at presenting them as they should. B9 over any FALD set available in India for me for your usage. C9 if you can afford the bump in the cost.

I can go upto 90 - 95 but not more than that unfortunately. Situation in india is pretty grim because

1. 2019 version of every tv got reduced in performance for some reason ... Samsung nu8000>ru8000, lg sk8500>sm9000 and those were all below 95k price range. Next anything worth the money is x95g , c9 all of them are for 1.2 or more

2. India has budget 4k tv s for masses but not for enthusiasts. At least the online reviews i could find on tv s like vu premium android, iffalcon k31, tcl p8 and such ... I just cant trust these and i swear if i watch one more joker (read indian reviewers) saying picture quality: looks good sound quality: sounds great and the proceeds to play games on the tv and goes on about it i'll jump off a cliff.

US TVs are NTSC only. You will struggle to use them in India.
I have gone through this myself - brought a TV when I moved back from the US.
Had to dump it finally.

Please check whether it is multisystem before buying.

What exact difference does NTSC/PAL make for us. An unrelated topic question is in my Marantz receiver, which format should I be selecting. NTSC or PAL?

If you're really set on doing this, try eBay and get it shipped via myus.com. They offer a 20% discount on your first shipment. You might save something there.

Absolutely not even trying. Like i mentioned in my earlier replies one had to be a complete lunatic to pay 3 times the price of the actual product and get no warranty or service , provided you get the shipment in one piece.

Such a shame india doesnt have a budget market for enthusiasts.
