Hi friends,

Yesterday I have bought Panasonic 42" X20D TV in Delhi for Rs.33000.

I want to know do we have to play break-in slides or view full screen contents without any static contents like any channel with logo etc for the first 200 hours. If yes, is it useful in any ways or not and if yes, how?

Please also tell me what settings should i use in the starting 200 hours to keep my tv long lasting....

Regards

I already hv the break-in images, but i want to know the settings for the TV while using it and after using it.

Secondly, pls tell me how long should i do it before using my normal cable connection.

The break-in slides are meant for evenly aging the phosphor. And hence you can have any settings (again personal view, you need to decide yourself and it's your risk). If you set higher setting values you can age the phosphor fast. I saw on AVS forum a professional suggesting Contrast and Brightness 100 in the Photo picture mode. To be little conservative I have used Contrast 80, Brightness +20, Color 60.

For the second question, 100 hours seems to be good, and 200 hours is the best. Again, I ran only in between my normal TV watching. While watching TV you should run the TV below 50 setting values for contrast and brightness.
