OLED uniformity thread

I don't know, man. For apps, most probably it's not even auto, but limited, as I doubt any streaming app is sending full data levels. Maybe because of the media player full light be needed.

Anyway, maybe they want to be sure that the right setting is there for input ports and no fluctuations happen. The input signal isn't in their control. In the apps, they might have guidelines making the auto setting work without hitches, but can't do that for the input ports.

So I used this video to check black levels:

Looks perfect tbh. 68 is clearly visible, even on turning on the light as I have AI brightness on. As it's a limited 10 bit level, 64 is reference black. I think the avsforum slides have each individual level as a separate value in there too if you wanna check even further. If 64 is black, 65 would be like 0.12% black. Mighty hard to see unless it's completely dark and the screen is dark too. In SDR that's a different story because if 16 is black, then 17 is close to 0.5%.

No point in going for C9 again, will go for CX when it's available here in India, hopefully it will have better uniformity

I don't think uniformity is specific with C9 and applies to all oled panels. For me i am very lucky as i haven't noticed any vertical bands and my usage hours so far is 100 hours. But i would like to know the entire story how you convinced LG for a refund. Did the replacement panel also have issues?

64 is pure black. It shouldn't be blinking.

I hope they have some tech to improve uniformity for those that they can bring into mass production. Let's see. Will have more details by May-June.

Guys got a CX, to my eyes uniformity looks perfect, day and night difference with C9 I returned. The torture tests which looked horrible on my C9, looks perfect on my CX. White slide also looks great, my C9 had blueish tints on edges. It seems I was correct in returning my C9, the piece I had was a trash.

The image looks pure white. Is that really a 5% grey uniformity image?

There are 2 images, one is 5% grey other is 100% white.

Oh ok both are cx. I thought you are sharing c9 and cx image. This is my c9 and it has decent 5% grey results. Only the edges are dark and non uniform

I feel most of the images are extereme here.

Attaching my sony AF8 with high exposure. Absolutely uniform after 3 years..

In reality it appears totally uniform grey.

Oh ok both are cx. I thought you are sharing c9 and cx image. This is my c9 and it has decent 5% grey results. Only the edges are dark and non uniform

Yours good. My C9 was horrible. CX appears to perfectly uniform to my eyes.

Yeah. I have tested all torture scenes and luckily no banding in any of those scenes. In fact it looks much better then in the image. Only in the left and right corner as seen in the image it’s darker but never noticed it in any movie content. Lucky to have won the panel lottery

Is there a colour to check burn-in? I have seen rtings using a pinkish color. Any video to that effect?

I am moving to my hometown , may be for 3-4 months . If the TV [c9] is off for such a long time is there any risk...?

So after 1000 hours of usage some good improvements with the panel compared to the image posted when it had 0 hours of usage.In person it looks much cleaner then the pic. As seen in pic the left and right corners are slightly dark. Tested using all torture scenes and have never noticed any banding.

Hi, how to carry out banding/screen uniformity test. I am a bit confused. Put a gray image and reduce TV brightness to 5% or 5% gray image at TV brightness 100%?

Can someone mention the step-by-step procedure? I want to test LG G1.
