LG OLED A/B/C/G Series TV Owners Thread (No price talk)

This is really sad that LG is not updating the firmware for previous year models or it's being delayed / not interested as it's become old. Being a top notch company they should give equal importance even to the older ones (atleast the last gen).

Now C4 has been launched and pre-bookings have already started in the US, updates will be history for older gens.

I remember my previous Sony received quite a few updates even till it's last breath.
Yeah

LG C4 or G4 are in USA.

After going through the details, not much of an improvement of C4 over C3, so in my opinion anybody thinking of buying the C4 should be taking benefit of the highly discounted C3 by year end.

C5 (2025) on the other hand should be a good upgrade with technology, hoping to get MLA like in G series and other things. I plan on taking another one probably 77 or higher by next year.

C4 G4 gets 5 years promise OS upgrades! C2 still its due Sad!
Absolutely true and unacceptable. I too did a deep search and found this article published on toms hardware... Well it clearly states that they are holding it for future release due to latest C4/G4 launches.

But you could expect webOS 23 update this year. Hoping for the best.

Unfortunately i bought a G1 a month before the G2 was launched - looks like that means i wont get an updated WebOS. Wonder if that means i have to eventually move to a separate streamer like apple TV or Firestick?

I know no price talk in this thread but do you have any idea what kind of discounts we can get by year end? I'm really torn between getting c3 55 right know vs waiting till year end, my fear is stocks for c3 might run out by then hand c4 had that green tint issue. This is what RD is giving me and they won't budge on it. Could use some help on this

One thing you can be rest assured that whatever these stores say about limited stocks or time sensitive offers are only for luring customers to buy immediately.

When I had bought the C3 in October last year C2 was still available and at a very good price, though I opted for C3 as I was getting a good price and newer model. C3 is a very good tv and you will get at a very good price, just wait for some big festival to come. If you can wait till October then I'm sure you will get any back models at superb prices. If not even now you can bargain and keep checking for price reductions, generally every Monday the dealers release new prices for the week seeing the demand and festivities.

I hope this helps.

I'll keep this in mind thanks, most of the LG dealers around my location wont even pick up my phone calls, but I'll ask around for price revisions, but I guess Diwali sale will indeed be the best time to grab a C3, I really wish C4s didn't have that green tint issue (Adam from RTings mentioned that LG said that its within expected range and all panels are checked at the factory) because LG's promised those 5 years of updates and that's really tempting to me, I might even grab a G3 if the price comes down during sale but let's see.

I've read the rtings review. Green tint is only visible from side angles as per them. I doubt if we can observe the same in showroom as they've multiple TVs stacked beside each other.
I'm considering to opt for C4 as G4 hasn't arrived yet +there will be substantial price difference between g3 & g4.
Have you seen a C4 in showroom and able to view green tint?

no, I havent checked any TVs out in showrooms, I am only going for sealed/non-display models and know what I need so I didnt see any point in going to showrooms.

Besides, C4 isnt a meaningful upgrade over C3 at all, besides some AI upscaling improvements, I dont think they have anything, instead opt for the G3 if your budget allows (if you want a meaningful upgrade over C3) or the C3

Hi all,

My LG CX Oled purchased in Feb 2021 has started developing some black dots on the edges. They are visible if seen from up close and do not interfere in normal viewing. Should I ask LG to have a look as my TV is still under extended warranty?

I strongly feel that's if it's still under warranty then get it checked with LG technicians and get it sorted as, if you prolong anything can happen at a future date, you may never know.

If this is a panel issue then they should replace it or whatever the case may be. But get it checked nevertheless. Keep us updated however it goes.

Looks like dead pixels and the number will only go up over time.

Do note that LG has a policy that they will replace the panel only if they notice 12 or more dead pixels.
And in your case, it appears there are way more than 12

So LG should definitely replace your panel under warranty
