Hi,
I've got the Sony KDL-32HX750 plugged directly into the ac line[comes through Microtek inverter].Do I need any additional components [UPS/Stabilizer] to safeguard the power supply for the television? I also want of BDP S490 and an HD STB to use altogether.plz suggest me.thanks :)

Depends.
1. If your inverter is ups based i.e the TV does not turn off in case of a power outage, you don't need a ups then.

2. If power supply is stable, and you don't have fluctuations then you don't need a stabiliser as well.

To be 100% sure you can get Sukam power doc. Its very portable, is a stabiliser and a surge protector.

Thanks for the reply. Now the TV DOES TURN OFF AND RESTARTS in a poweroff, the inverter cant detect the trip. Our house is an old one,so also is the case for electrical wiring.there's no MCB,hard 5amp fuses are there in the switch boxes.I asked the Sony technician if it would require a surge protector or UPS; but he told me that the TV's MOV is enough.I was not so sure;yet neither did I cared for a power guard. Now I am worried more.I ll follow ur suggestion. plz post any additional suggestions.ur so welcome :clapping:

1.How frequently is there a power outage while watching TV in a day on an average?
2.Is your inverter pure sinewave?
3.How many hours/minutes you expect the TV to run on power backup, daily average?
4. What is the voltage situation, fairly stable?

1. power outage is not very frequent,avg once/twice a day.[TV hard Restarts].
2.it is advertise as pure sinewave inverter Microtek, there no history of appliances gone bad due to surge or so.[Desktops,Laptop,Microwave,Analog TV,refrigrtr- nothing ever got hurt]
3.I just want 5 seconds backup time to find the remote and turn the TV off safely.I dont think the output power supply of Inverter cause any harm to devices,Does they?
4.There it goes creepy.I ve experienced line voltage diturbances,lights/bulbs doing a bit up/down.I dont want to cause any harm to the HX's SMPS.
Now those sony Guys told me again that the TVs SMPS is smart and robust enough, but its upto me if I opt for a stabilizer/UPS.
should I Use the Sukam powerGuard to the mains[from inverter]and an UPS[another one!Gosh,I already have 2.] to the doc,and the twopin plug of the TV to the UPS?[does the polarity matter here?I saw a post about the powerdoc burning out the TVs MOV.].I also am looking for the BDP S490 and a future planning for an STB is also there. What preventive measures should I take?

I never know such a product there :D. I read about it. I came to know its not a stabiliser but just cut the power off when voltage is not in its range. But innovative and cheap alternative for not so precious home products.
