Post your latest AV purchase(s)......

Thanks- the speakers seem to have some depth. From the box pictures it seemed that the speakers were almost flat with may be 2 inches of depth.
You are right. "XTZ Spirit 2" front/rears depth is 5 inches. Center "XTZ Spirit 6" is deeper - 6 inches. Even at that, its the shallowest speaker set I could get. Thinner than that are either insanely expensive or have inferior sound. Even this 5.0 set costed me nearly 1.25 lakhs

How much did it cost and from where did you source it? The prices seem too high these days.
I don't see the costs going down this year. Even next year when things simmer down, I think that the only difference will be that costs will stay the same and not go up. If you are interested, PM me, the dealer I bought it from offers best price for AVRs. I got my Denon 3700H for 1.13 lakh but prices have further increased since then.

6 inches is almost traditional speaker depth. Is the cost high due to their weight ? (lighter than book shelves which are usually too heavy to hang)

Are you sure that 6 inch is traditional speaker depth? Can you share examples? All the comparable speakers I checked were around 10 inch in depth and were mostly designed to be placed further away from wall.
No idea whether weight is a factor for high cost. Thinner/lighter speakers were much more expensive.

That is a good price for a PSU.

Today received Edifier C3 2.1 speaker system. Bought from flipkart last week for Rs.7280/-. Couple of hours after placing my order, the price shot to 9664/-. This is a very good speaker system for casual listening. Weighs 16Kg!
Hello Sir, I just registered today just to thank you for your recommendations given to other members. I bought C3 56 w speaker from Flipkart @5935 after discounts on 20 jan 2021. I solely went by your recommendation given to other members. I must say.its a steal deal at this price. Thanks. Do you still own your C3?

Yes what I meant was the lighter the speaker the more expensive it is since it is offering full speaker functionality without being heavy.

These XTZ speakers are quite heavy for their size - fronts/rears are 5kg each, the center is 7.5kg. Knocking on them feels as if they are very dense inside.

Added HT to my stereo system using Integra DHC 80.6, one Tannoy gold 8 for center and 4 Tannoy gold 7 actives for surround. Existing Tekton speakers serve as LR.

4 feet and power cord with US plug? Luckily I have a spare similar power cord with Indian type plug. Problem solved!
