planning to buy a 42' or 47' LED.budget can go up to 80000/-.was thinking about LG 42 LE 5300 there the dynamic contrast ratio seen as 20,00,000:1 and 42 LE 5500 all other features are same except this dynamic contrast ratio.and the price difference is almost 20000.does this makes much sense.my research says after 1000:1 in bright rooms this does not make that much difference.please comment on this knowledgable friends

Not sure how much this costs outside but the difference in price mentioned by the same seller for 40BX400 and 40EX400 is about ~10k which makes the BX400 unbelievable VFM.

Got an offer from ezone on kolkata -Philips 46 PFL 5505/V7( 46 " Full HD Lcd),
MRP :Rs 90000
Offer Price: Rs 53900 ( though a republic day offer but valid till 30 Jan2011, still stock last).
The same lcd is priced Rs 73990 in some other showroom and even in my last visit at ezone on 22-jan 2011 the price after discount was Rs 73990. The picture very clear and crisp and I am seriously thinking to grab it.Initiall i though t to go for the Toshiba 40 AV 700( price around 39000). But to me it seems philips to be VFM.
Board members kindly advise me.

I saw the Ad as well,if true its a excellent deal.Perhaps its a clearance sale to make way for the 2011 models.
I haven't see this tv but a 46" means a VA based panel and the image processing in philips is one of the better ones.If its like the last years version(09) it applies a fair bit of edge enhancement you can reduce it to a great extent with the settings,but i couldn't eliminate it in the 32" 5609.But nevertheless the 32" 5609 was the one of better tvs out there.

The only problem in philips is the service now that its A.S.S(after sales support) is taken over by videocon the same people who give the crappy service to the kenstar,electrolux.But after the warranty is over ,would one care since the cost of replacing the panel will be high and lcd prices are only going to fall.So mostly the person will think about getting a new tv

Thanks Adder for ur suggestion. I got the lcd delivered yesterday - installtion on monday.Managed to get a hdmi cable(free) also with the piece.

I think the le5500 has wifi inbuilt...whereas u will need a dongle with the 5300...

Just got one, i have been quoted 59K at sony mony prabhadevi, but i bought it from Alfa as i was there and they had it in ready stock.

Bought Toshiba Regza 32AV700E for a relative for Rs.20.490/- in Gurgaon. It was price at Rs.20,990 with free Airtel SD STB. We did not want it, so they reduced Rs.500/- for it.
