Please suggest a good and reasonable place for making polarized prescription (numbered) lenses in Mumbai. I already have the frame.

The local stores in my area (Kandivali/Borivali) are charging exorbitant prices. I got the quotes starting from Rs 4500. My number is 1.0 and so feel that the prices are really high only for the lenses. Please advise.

Have you checked vision express? This is reliance brand with stores all over the country.Their prices are quite reasonable.

Have you checked vision express a branded eye wear store from reliance. They have store all across the country and prices seem to be reasonable too.

What's the prescription power?

The actual cost for simple polarised numbers blanks comes to about five hundred and the frame cost from the makes like Essilor comes to about another hundred. The fitting of the blank forms into the frame costs about fifty.

Rest is the margin / profit !

My suggestion - go to any good optician or any old optical shop in your area and give your requirements. They will do a better job at a lesser price.

Shivam my number is 0.75 (so no high index etc) but the costs that I am getting from Local opticals is VERY very High (based on the costs you have provided). Do you know any optical store in Mumbai who would make lenses at that price? I don't mind travelling to that store.

I have no information about the optical shops in Mumbai. Try to find any old optical store near your area.

Ok, Didn't realize until now that you were based out of Kanpur. Thanks for your reply.

Also, If anyone from Mumbai could suggest a good and reasonable place for making polarized prescription (numbered) lenses, I would appreciate that.

Meanwhile, I will check out old optical stores here.
