I want to know whether for a 5.1 HT system the front L & R output is equal to the common L & R output of a stereo receiver?

If I ignore the Center and Surround speakers (Leave it open without connecting speakers) Can I use the Front L & R as Left and Right speakers and do I get the same audio effect by using this type.

Is it possible to convert a 5.1 HT receiver to a 2 channel stereo receiver. (Subwoofer pre-out is omitted)

Please post your valuable suggestions on this.

You can use avr in two channel mode. No harm in it.

Yes if you use only stereo (2 channel information).. No if you are using 5.1 channel information... In your stereo receiver, 5.1 is mixed down to 2.0/2.1

You can set them to no in AVR settings & all of them will get redirected to L & R speakers of the AVR

Yeah you can.. But why do you want to do it when there are already plenty of stereo receivers....

If you know/have any of your friends in middle east, you can get them easily.. In india may be tough to find... Check pioneer dealers in your city & check if they have this model in India....

Thank you so much for your clarifications. Still I need to check with you again. Could you please share your mobile number so that I can erase some more doubts.
I was looking to buy a Pioneer Micro system (X-HM51K / X-HM71-K) Unfortunately these models are not available with Pioneer India or any other 3rd party. Also I have no one to take it from UAE. In gulf also these models are not available. (Available only in EU/UK/Australia).
Your clarifications again drive me back to buy Pioneer HTP-072 and need to purchase a pair of L/R speakers.

Do you know which speaker (Box) will match the best for this receiver when I use it as 2 channel (I will be omitting Center and Surround out) and use L & R only.

Yes some models are region/country specific, so you might not be able to find in UAE...
