Looking for some reliable shipping services who will provide custom clearance too. I dont want to run around doing custom clearance.

Shop&Ship is good. PPOBox is good too, never had any problem with paperwork when forwarding through PPOBox.

I want to go with ppobox, but they said since laptop has battery , it will be delayed by a month, for they have to do some paper work for allowing batteries in their courier

I've used both services, and both have worked well for me. I've used ShopnShip far more extensively.

I'd suggest using ShopnShip, as:

- You will be able to buy the articles yourselves and pay for them using your own Credit Card.
- You will have multiple addresses across the world, and that will open up a lot of shopping markets to you.

One additional advantage with ShopNShip is that your actual customs charges could (by luck) work out lesser than originally expected. You pay the customs charges only based on the actuals paid, at the time of delivery (or after the item gets cleared). In the case of iShop, you pay the customs charges also in advance.

All this said, if you have someone coming over from the country where your laptop is being built, it can be hand-carried as personal luggage, and you will save 100% of the possible duties.


EDIT: You will have to find out if the battery will be a problem. ShopNShip has stopped transporting batteries and battery banks. Here's the list of prohibited items.

Hi,

What about IEC code? I understand that importing an item costing over Rs. 1 lac is prohibited unless you have an import license. That will possibly apply irrespective of which agency you use. I wonder if any of these agencies can bypass this requirement.

my item is less than 1 lakh... going to add SSDs, RAM, HDDs locally... so cost is not that much...
