hello as the title says want to replace z2300 satellites with cheap bookshelf or satellite speakers. did a google search n found they use 8 ohm speakers, also read that it can be replace with passive bookshelf speakers.

thanks in advance :)

You could look at any used HTIB satellite speakers on OLX, Quick R... But make sure they are 8 Ohm speakers for the compatibility...

I don't think there is a major point in putting a big bookshelf. The outputs to the sattelites are high pass filtered. Ideally you need sat speakers with decent power inputs. 4" with at least 40W RMS. a single full range should do, though a bit of high sensitivity would be good.

I was lucky to find a guy selling sattelites from a dead Z680, and bought a pair off him!

had a sent a mail to smd audio
this is the reply i got

Well what I have ready with me is a
pair of transmission line bookshelf speakers (economy) 40 watts RMS @ 8
ohms and a pair of waveguide bookshelf speakers (premium) 50 watts RMS @ 8
ohms. You may audition them any time at my address. Prices are 8800/-
(pair) and 22000/-(pair) respectively.

9k is a bit steep for upgrading the Z2300 (you can get a Z623 around that price)

you can get a locally made cabinet + speakers for a few K
