I will try setting up a Media center and Torrent seed box once product received. Looking foreword for all of your support.

Why not the 128 GB? It's the same price. Cancel and reorder, easy on Amazon.

Thanks for pointing it out. But i guess the model that I have ordered is having better read/write speed.

On the Pi it won't matter, you won't get top speed anyway. Max is limited to 65 mbps.

On the PC the Extreme is the fastest, but you'll need SATA 3 interface and SSD for the full speeds. If SATA 2 then both Extreme and Fit will perform on par. Eevn the Ultra series performs on par with most equipment, but slightly slower most of the time.

I get 600-640 mbps on my PC. The Pi is like 1/10th of that... so more capacity makes sense for a torrentbox.

PS: Use WinSCP to copy files from the USB to HDD, easier than unplugging the USB from the Pi each time.

My RPi 3 arrived this morning, I have installed OpenELEC 6.0.3 on Samsung 8GB memory card and installed it on RPi 3, then connected to my 50" Panasonic Full HD LED TV via HDMI cable of my Tata Sky HD STB as the other HDMI cable is on the way, but I am so disappointed with picture quality on the screen, even the OpenELEC menus has pixels, I have changed the aspect ratio in system tab to full hd 1080p, but still picture quality is not full hd, the screen looks like out of the box.
Second think when I connected my 1TB HDD to RPi 3, It got detected, but I couldn't add movies to playlist as I couldn't find the HDD on add video menu, somehow I managed to browse HDD, and when I play 720P and 1080P videos, they look horrible, there are lots of pixels in the picture, like I am watching some SD content. I don't know what is wrong, is there any problem with HDMI cable, but it's working fine with my Tata Sky STB, or I need to add some graphic card to RPi 3, coz operations are not so smooth, I couldn't fast forward the movies, RPi 3 got hanged due to this.
Guys pls help me with it.

Sorry to hear that Amit. Did you try connecting the RPi to a diffrent screen other than your TV? I am sure there is some setting that you have missed either in TV or in RPi.
I have seen RPi playing wonderully well full hd video and there was no lag in forwarding the scenes.

Check out the below forum of RPi

Sorry for delayed reply, Ya, after some digging I have sorted most of the issues like poor picture quality, it was some setting in my TV, it's looking nice now, other thing was hdd not detected, that is also sorted, but some other issues are there now. A rainbow colored box is continusely blinking on top right corner, why... i have no idea... second thing when I move forward movies via mouse, it got hanged ... some times it moves but took to much of time which annoying ... third is could some one please tell me how can I watch youtube on RPi 3
guys I know I am asking too much, but I am new for it, If some experienced users can help me, I would be thankful

Rainbow square denotes under-voltage. Please try removing the HDD connected and check if the same symbol is getting displayed.
As far as youtube is considered, as you have installed Openelec you need to install youtube plugin for openelec to watch youtube from RPi

after more digging on net, all is set now, I have got 5v/2.0a charger from local mobile shop, which cost me 250/- bucks, so under voltage problem is no more. Youtube is working fine, as I have installed it from the help of youtube videos. I have also installed Exodus plugin, which have more video content.

But Now one issue is there... I have old Sony 5.1 speaker set with active sub woofer, which has optical 5.1 input, there is no HDMI of spidf digital input. In this case How would I get 5.1 sound output from RPi3, there is no connectivity option. I have tried for pass through from my TV, but unfortunately my TV doesn't support 5.1 pass through.

Anyone ... help me with this issue,....

unless there is something like HDMI->optical converter that also supports passthrough ....

You can get https://www.hifiberry.com/digiplus/.

Will give Toslink output to the Pi.

Hi Friends,

Just received my RPi3 :yahoo:, Installed Openelec for Kodi and added add-on Transmission for seeding torrents to connected 64GB thumb drive.

Will give detailed review once every thing is tested and working well.
