Is this true? I mean Ive seen a few later Hindi film records that were brought out by Sony, but they dont say import anywhere. Can anyone clarify this? Especially if you have people in companies like Sony etc...
There was a very good vinyl pressing facility at Dum Dum HMV Studio in Kolkata but after the corrupt R.P Goenka group took over the company they are after closing the studio for real estate development....
there is a unit manufacturing records in Baddi in himachal. all of Tseries records are pressed there.
rest all of them either press it in Germany or US.
even japenese pressing is out.
i have done quite an analysis over this as i was and still keen to start producing records.
A pleasant surprise Hemantbhai. Nice to know that.Long back around 25 years back my father worked in Polydor Music India. He was chemical engineer in record pressing division.
What type of music you will be releasing ? If it is Indian classical I am interested.Hi Denzong, same here with me, since I run a small label and I want to do some releases on vinyl, I am looking at a source.
Haha Hiten far from classical music . Mostly Death/Black/Heavy Metal music. Ive done releases on cds and tapes so farA pleasant surprise Hemantbhai. Nice to know that.

I was also looking into pressing records for my bands release a few months ago, and the best I could figure was that it would cost me close to a lakh rupees to press 100 records in the US and have it shipped here. The actual cost was less, about 50k (without covers), but shipping was another 30-35k. If I can find a solution in India, I will be happy.
Absolutely right. Not to mention the high skill set which will be the hardest to find and deploy now.Unlike cassette / cd in my opinion record making is complex , capital intensive and requires more equipment & bigger space....
Today most recording on vinyl is digital unfortunately. I think the last band that got a complete analog sound recently was the progressive metal band Opeth for one of their later albums. I'm guessing thats why there's a big difference between the sound of the new vinyl and the old ones? I may be wrong though...Min order qty was 100? that is good. Recording analougue or digital?
Good to know that too .Haha Hiten far from classical music . Mostly Death/Black/Heavy Metal music.
Already did sir. The cd and the tape have spread far and wide. The Vinyl (10") was released by a German labelGood to know that too .
Small quantity of Vinyl pressings will be costly. Since you are in to heavy metal try to capture US metal fans audience too. US market is huge and you will get recognition. Also try to record high resolution digital format.
Regards.
I dont have the vinyl yet, but sure you can check out the song here.Thats great !
SQ wise how do CD and vinyl compare ? Any link/s for small preview of your music and Vinyl.
Thanks.
Absolutely not bro. I like all creative processes. Am listening to it right now. Good concept (ravaan) for the song. This will surely test the cartridge & stylus capabilities .Remember not to get too upset with me, because the music is really loud death metal
