Samsung 50" Plasma Replacement

I purchased a samsung PS50B450 plasma TV on 13th feb 2010. Recently(2 months back) It has gone faulty.. I see some red patch in the top-centre of the panel. And there was a greater IR problem. I made a complain to samsung about this. The service engineer visited my place for about 10+ times and confirmed that it is the problem with panel and said the panel will be replaced within a week time. It had been more than a week time and nothing had been done. After continuous follow-up by me, I was informed that the replacement panel has been damaged in transit and since this model has been discontinued, there is no more panels left out and so the Full unit will be replaced at the earliest. This entire thing had taken 1 month.

Now it had been more than 60 days since i had initially raised the complain. After many follow-ups, i was said that the TV has been discontinued and this matter is being discussed. And many times I am left unanswered. Two days back i got a call from senior service manager(chennai) said me that the replacement tv had arrived and it will be sent to my place in a day time. When i asked about the model of the tv he sait since b450 has been discontinued, it has been replaced with c450. Today i went to service center, gave them the old TV(b450) and got the replacement tv(c450) from them. The replacement TV works fine now.. now its only 2 days left for the warranty to get expired..

Now i just wanna know how good is c450 compared to b450? Is it worth the fight that i had made for past 2 months? My initial experience had been good with c450 though...

Afaik there will be still one year warrenty from the date of replacement,its how it worked for me in nokia mobile,pls confirm it with the customer care.if they don't readyly provide it ,you can write a email to samsung regarding this,mostly they hesitate and tell that there is no such thing,if u insist there are more chances to get 1 year warrenty back.

C450 is same as B450 picture processing wise with added movie playback through USB. Try out the movie playback. It supports quite a few formats and handles things well. Rest is almost same except for the aesthetics.

It should be one year of warranty from the date of replacement not from the date of original purchase. Only way to deal with Samsung is to file a case against them in the consumer court. Samsung plasmas are notorious for going bad shortly after the warranty runs out and hence the warranty is a must.
