First and foremost thing, basically am not a fan of Samsung in tv segment, i love Japanese brands except sony. Preference was a plasma, but unfortunately my brother wanted 3d, so bought es 6200. to the review

Pros

Video quality when an hd content played
Reads almost every format including 3gp, vob etc
Smart is just brilliant if you have wireless keyboard plus mouse
3d is good, love the full hd 3d
The best thing is
No uniformity issues
The blacks are bloody black, i don't know what technology they use but i think the backlight switches off automatically when a black image or night scene is played.
Sound quality is insane

Cons

2d quality is poor
If there are white texts on black scenes, even that goes little bit black.

Totally its a fantastic tv, have more to say but I hate typing, so.... If you have any questions ask here.

Thanks for the review Lijo. I am also considering this TV along with Sony EX650.

Since we would be watching the TV mainly in 2D, I guess your observation on 2D is a big concern. Would appreiciate if you can elaborate more on this point and if possible share some pictures.

What is you TV size and how much did you you get it for? Does the 3D viewing in this TV gives you headaches?

I want a TV with good picture quality in both SD and HD for day to day viewing which will mainly be in 2D.

Sony well i only wish they had a better media package (play from USB) the basics they have great PQ sets but miss out on some of niceties

When a person is buying a tv>60-70k it can be assumed that he got enough money to buy a cheap media player of 3-4k price cause it's very easy to buy accessory to enrich media playback but don't think there is any such thing to get better PQ.

I have already got a thread regarding mkv playback on sony tv.

Does this means sony EX650 is better than Samsung 6200 in terms of SD and HD picture quality? Also what about fast moving scene in EX650?

What's the best settings in 40 Inches ES6200 ( Contrast, Brightness..so on ) for SD and HD viewing ?

I also have Samsung 6 series LED 3D tv (EH6030). What TV picture settings you are using to get the best quality?

Refer this thread: AVS HD 709 - Blu-ray & MP4 Calibration

1. Download AVCHD.exe (the DVD version) using the link in thread above
2. Run the EXE to unzip the file into some folder
3. Burn the contents of the folder to a DVD
4. Popin the DVD into a BDP or upsacling DVD player (DVDP with HDMI-out)
5. Follow instructions on how to set black levels and white levels. This alone should be good enough.

i dont have any hd dvd player , can i caliberate using usb of my smart tv(samsung)?

Oh! OK. I thought you had purchased the 64" Samsung. My bad.

Anyway, I don't have any alternative. Maybe others can help.

A beautiful, well-constructed speaker with class-leading soundstage, imaging and bass that is fast, deep, and precise.
