Just wondering; will it read a 500GB ext HDD: coz my dvd player can read only till around 4GB.

forget about your DVD..with this tv you don't need a stand alone media player it plays everything(except flv and realmedia).. maximum file size it can play 32 GB and usb menu is good.i my self had connected a 500gb hard disk and it plays fine does not take to much time to play.. as i have tried max's file of size of 8gb(1080p) on my tv(32c630) even connected it to my computer through wired LAN its just a wonder thing.. :clapping:

Yes, even I used my 500GB external hard drive to play my fullHD movies, I played movie file size more than 4GB (movie 2012).

Hi slayer_tiger -- I am owning samsung LA40C550 and want to know what is the use if we connect LCD to computer through LAN cable? please help me to understand..

Hi s3rial_7hrilla, all the best and I bet you.. you really enjoy the high picture quality with this LCD.. yes, start downloading movies from net. even I have many 720p HD movies and the picture quality is awesome..

it is the same as connecting a HDD , whatever folder you share on your PC will be visible on TV using a software pc share manager provided by samsung which is available for download on samsung website.it is useful for those who have home network which comprises more than one computer.(or through wireless network-c630)
the drawback is that some of the features like resuming don't work when playing through LAN,though it is still fun.....:licklips::licklips:

All rite guys, after doing enough r&d, I also decided to take the plunge and went ahead to buy c550 @ 52.5k from Giriya's in Bangalore. Hoping it to be delivered tommorow. Next decision is to decide on Taka SKy vs Airtel IPtv? Any reviews for the IPTV service in BLR?

Hi Guys,
The outisde frame of my LA40C550 is not shiny and always attract dust and needs to be cleaned almost every alternate days to look shiny.... whether anybody have this problem with this model ??

Hey! shree123, i've been havin some prblms with my tv: when watching any 720p mp4 movies greater than 2.2GB; i never seem to able play the entire movie, max 2hrs or so, after which it abruptly stops. I even upgraded the software, but to no avail.
You seemed to have encountered no such problems, going by your earlier comments, so was wondering whether you have any suggestions?; or could it be my tv is a different model thats why? (LA40C530)

Did a bit of research on my prblm; found out that it is specific for mp4 files only (brrip and dvdrip) no such prblms with mkv. Sadly dint find any solutions, unless of course samsung uploads a firmware in the near future, that corrects the prblm.

I got Samsung LA40C550 a few days back.. Its working perfectly fine uptil now, but i just checked a forum on the internet that has some users complaining about a no display and only sound problem.. Does any of you guys have face the same problem ??? Just curious, it costs a fortune so i am just worried

No, i am using this model since Nov and works absolutely fine..

what is that no display you are talking about?

Hello owners of LA40C550, I got this model in Nov 2010 and is very much satisfied with the PQ and other stuffs. But since yesterday, one thing is bugging me in my mind regarding the Panel number which i was not aware at the time of purchase.. After my research, i found that SPVA panels are trusted panels to look for...

The version of my TV is "AA01" which i am not sure whether it is a SPVA panel ... anyone can answer this question?

In the meantime, I request all the owners of this TV to check the version (which is at the side of your TV) and post your respective versions... This is because i wanted to make sure whether the majority of the versions is in sync with me so that my mind would be little free..

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
