Samsung seems to have taken av enthusiasts concerns around the world(or rather certain corners) about their Edge Lit LEDs a bit seriously. Though the new firmware update may not eliminate the fluctuating backlight altogether it does give it a slight noticeable improvement at the expense of some black levels.
The firmware version in question i believe is version 1013 for the US. Though initially released for the B8000 it now extends to the B7000 and B6000 as well. CNET have infact tweaked their reviews for the b8000 and will do the same to the B7000
