loving the tv!
some issues:
REFLECTION!! its too much. maybe i have to check when cell light is higher (right now at 5 during break in period)
Through windows 7 PC the videos library shows many videos, but the tv is detecting only a few? I have about 462 videos shared, but can see hardly maybe a 100 or two. any help? I can play a particular video which isnt showing there via USB easily so not a format issue im sure.

the best feature i think is the Universal Remote! controls the STB amazingly.

I have a new Samsung plasma 51f5500 that has got a optical out but no aux out.Alongwith that it has got a hdmi arc out.I have got a dishtv set top box for channel viewing,connected to the plasma through hdmi(stb) and through other labelled as hdmi(arc) i have got a philips home theatre htd3510g.
Now i want to transmit dolby digital sound from my hard disk movies and through stb channels using hdmi arc to my philips hts.
But i can't do so.
Earlier i was able to transmit the signal from pendrive connected to tv in philips hts,but after fidgeting with some menus i can't do so now,i can't revert it back.
Can you plwase guide me through this as you told using optical i won't be able to get best of sound.

in audio options/quick menu you will see speaker setup. you can then select external speakers to output to the hts.

IF philips has ARC on then it should show receiver there else it will show few more options.

besides that in audio format you can toggle between pcm/dolby digital / dts / dts neo 2:5

The philips hts has got arc and even the receiver gets highligted as soon as i switch on the hts.
Even the annynet runs and connects itself to hts.I can even control the hts using tv remote.
The only thingafter all these successful connection being is NO SDOUND!!.
Now what to do??

It says that it supports miracast and dlna.
Any apps for that.
I am successful in transmitting the photos and videos but what i want is to transmit the screen of nexus on to my tv for viewinig maps.
This actually need a pro to answer this.

Well I am sure N7 has casting available under setting - display - cast screen . do ensure you have selected mirror display in TV inputs

Last week bought my first big screen Samsung Plasma 51F5500.
Still keeping all the settings at the lowest, waiting for the break-in period to complete.
Currently alternating between few bluray movies and break-in slides(Made a movie using the 120 color slides using windows movie maker)

Everything seems fine except for two very faint horizontal banding issues at the bottom half of the screen. Only visible when playing the lighter color in the break-in slides.

Is this something to be worried about or anyone faced similar issues?
Will post few snaps of the banding issue tomorrow.

Also anyone aware of getting the TV usage time using the touch remote?

And which store? I am trying to finalize a deal today and will be helpful for my negotiations.

In the invoice it is 76k but I got it for 72k. They said they will refund 2k once I return the skype camera. The skype camera was part of Diwali offer (which I am yet to receive) So the final deal will work out to 70K.

I am also planning to get additional 3 year warranty which will cost 8400 + taxes.

I guess my total cost would be 80K for the TV and (1+3) = 4 year warranty

I bought it from samsung store. You can approach any samsung store in bangalore.

Just get a standard Samsung remote and use the key combination. Not aware of any way to do via the smart remote

BTW, try to get more for that Skype camera - it is worth 6K and one of Samsung stores I talked to were willing to reduce bill by 5K if not wanting the camera - but I didn't end up buying from him.

did you check speaker settings in TV ?
did you route them to external speakers ?

Did change the settings to external speaker. The avr/receiver settings are not highlighted. so cant select the options other that tv speaker or external speaker. spoke to samsung cust. care many times. They(cust. executives even tried taking tv on remote but in vain).

Thinking of changing HDMI cable.

i bought this F5500 Samsung plasma on September end.. it was really good in display especially at night time. amazing Colors/contrast/black levels..

2 days back.. i saw a thin green vertical line (about 1 - 2 pixel width).. on the display.. and shocked. Just 45 days old tv.. with this problem.. unbelievable...
(will post the photo soon..)

i called the customer care.. and they sent a executive today.. he said.. seems very rare issue. better to change the panel..

i dont think its usual to change the panel for plasma. also i dont know how it will work.. for future.. ???

any idea.. or any one had this problem and fixed.. .. ??

Has anyone ugraded firmware on f5500 using usb drive,if yes can you please throw some light on how to do that because I am unable to do the same.
I have tried everything, from extracting it first to computer then copying only the file also tried copying the file as a whole on pd,keeping both on pd but nothing seems to get working.
It's simply not showing the option of using usb in Software Upgrade option,just showing Upgrade now and Auto-Upgrade,What to do now?
