Setting up HT

I have the following equipments newly bought, not installed yet.

TV - Panasonic 50EM5D LED TV
System - Denon 1312 XP 5.1 Home theatre package.
Player - Sony SR 320 DVD Player
HD Set Top Box

Suggestions / Advice please:
The 5.1 speakers and sub woofer have been wired with the HT.
TV, STB and DVD player have not been inter-connected yet.
I will be watching movies mostly through USB input of TV, USB of DVD player and STB HD movies. Audio would also be through USB inputs mostly.
How do I connect all the above to get the best audio / video config? What are the connecting cables called and which goes in which?
Also, I dunno if it's important but I've been told that my TV does not have Optical Cable Out.
Please, I'm a newbie so please don't hesitate to explain in as much detail as possible.

Try connections as follows:

Assume that Sony DVDP has HDMI Out and STB does not do 5.1 over HDMI:
STB ==> HDMI ==> HDMI 1 of TV
STB ==> Coaxial ==> Coaxial-in of Denon 1312XP
DVDP ==> HDMI ==> HDMI 2 of TV (with ARC)
DVDP ==> Optical ==> Optical-in of Denon 1312XP

Assume that Sony DVDP has HDMI Out and STB does do 5.1 over HDMI:
DVDP ==> HDMI ==> HDMI 1 of TV
DVDP ==> Coaxial ==> Coaxial-in of Denon 1312XP
STB ==> HDMI ==> Denon 1312 ==> HDMI 2 of TV (with ARC)

Just checked and found that the DVDP does not have HDMI (Out). It only has Audio (L & R), Video (Out) and Coaxial (Out).
Any thoughts?
With DVDP not having HDMI(Out), will it affect the audio or video quality as compared to Coaxial (Out)?

You will not be able to enjoy HD video without hdmi. Check whether component video out (Y-Cb-Cr) is available on DVDP.
