Shaving gear recommendations needed

Huh????????? There is/was no liquid in my Bio Palmyra. It's just a very very thick cream. I wonder if they have changed the formulation since I bought it [a year ago]. I suggest you lodge a complaint with Biotique. Maybe nothing will come of it but don't take this lying down.

Maybe its oozed out of the cream? OK I will write an email to them. Just wary of a lazy "oh thats normal" response by some typical shabby person wanting to dismis all complaints.

Oh so true, and the way they name them is meant to make us think of BMWs. It must be a marketing man's nightmare to describe a range like that so the sell a bit of everything.

You can't say, "This is our cheapest, it's lousy; this one is a bit more expensive and actually cuts hair; spend more on this one and it's a bit better; this one is bloody brilliant, but..."

However, I'm sticking with electric, and when my Philips falls apart I probably will get a BMW 5 Series razor. Oh, I mean a Braun car, of course.

Wet shave? How am I supposed to do that lazily in front of the computer?

LOL Thad, shaving is one time when men can legitimately stare at their face without being labeled a narcisist :)

I would certainly recommend trying seven o clock baldes and a safety razor and compare it with a Mach 3 maybe ? It's definitely a different experience. I tend to shave in the evenings when I am bit more relaxed and have time to go through the whole ritual of whipping up a lather, using double edged blades followed by an aftershave etc....:D

Hmmm... I dont want those nicks and cuts ... but is there something that will prevent that? Lemme look at the video first, my desktop doesnt have working speakers... will check them out at office when I boot my laptop.

Thanks

I have been using electric shavers of different models since 2 years, i find it very good.

I am very happy with the performance, actually i was worried that i may not like or suit my skin etc and i would end up going back to the usual good normal razor's, foam and after shave liquid.

One of the reasons which electric shavers are not successful is because lack of awareness and often people end up buying the cheap models so their performance is not good and moreover in general the expectations are too much that the shaving will happen much faster compared to a normal razor while reality is that it take anywhere around 6 to 9 minutes for a good shave (some of the model comes with a digital timer).

While the important thing is that it takes several days or even a month to get used to these shavers so often people give up in the expectation that it is a mere fancy gadget but truth is otherwise, in these 2 years i have not shaved even once also with the normal razor.

Also, shavers need to burn in.

Stop laughing! Seriously, the Philishave rotary heads actually do get better after a few weeks, as the cutters accurately mate with the heads. I don't know if this true for the lateral type.

I shave every 2 days so first to remove the stubble I use any razor which is cheaper than 7 o clock, then I use mach 3 for the final shave thus there is no problem of hair getting stuck in the mach 3 razor and it lasts me more than 2 months. I use the gillette shaving gel.

Spidey,

I am currently using 2 brands of electric shavers as per link and i am fully satisfied. If there is anything more you would like to know then please do write.

Amazon.com: braun series 7795cc-3

Amazon.com: Norelco 1180X/40 RECHARGEABLE CORDLESS RAZOR: Everything Else

I was having one more electric shaver in Philips brand but that got stolen while travelling.

The Philips razor as per link was costing around US$.300/- when it was launched 2 years ago, and is now for only around US$.125/-, moral of the story is that it is a good idea to buy old model.
