For my father, I am finalising either 46" 3D from Samsung (7000 series about Rs.1,20,000/- with 3 specs, 3-D blu-ray player and some titles) or Sony HX800 (about 1,15,000/- with 2 specs, 3-D blu-ray player and 9 titles).
Dont you want to wait till the new models are released ? may be end of this month ?

I was kinda hoping they would be released before world cup as the sales target of sony is to capture 40% market during world cup time .... Who will buy old models ?
Please keep us popsted on what your dealer comes back with after 10th.
I found this review and it says that Sony's HX800 series has poor viewing angles and also the 3D effect drops if you tilt your head around.

The pricing I have been offered is about 1.12 lac with the goodies and a Dish connection (I think Airtel).
Guys, I went to ezone today in South City mall of Kolkata and saw the 46HX800. Picture is real good. And I tried to see the viewing angle and for 2D viewing this is good enough, I was able to get a good pic till 130 degrees angle (63 degrees on either side of the perpendicular axis) which I think is very good for home viewing as we hardly sit in home at that angle.

Put down the cheque today for the 46HX800. To be delivered by Wed or Thu. Also getting 2 TataSky+ HD, by 15th or 16th (the Ajmer distributor is my cousin, so he is giving me howmany ever I want of the 50 he is receiving)
Now suggest me a 32" for my room.

For the 46HX800 will be about 111500/- (- the cost for the Airtel DTH). Say 1,11,000/- or so.

3-D Blu ray player, 2 glasses, 9 titles (total), and of course the emitter.
Also am planning to put a wi-fi router in repeater mode to connect to broadband (for whatever it is worth).
Keeping my fingers crossed. This is decent amount for a TV.
