Hi,

I have connected BD player (Sony BDP S370) to Router (Belkin N600DB) via Ethernet wire. And my Hard drive is connected to Router on USB. When my Laptop is connected to Router on wireless, I can see the USB drive and can also play. Similarly I expect to see my USB drive on BP player menu also.

Under Settings --> Connection Server I can see it and shows status as Success. My USB has .mkv video files along with some pictures. I can see this shared drive under Photos and can also see photos. But I can't see this drive under Music or Video, so I am unable to play video files.

Any suggestions/thoughts on what is going wrong ?

I have the EXACT same issue with the S370 and a Buffalo Tech NAS. I've discussed this with both Sony and Buffalo.

I suspect it has to do with the Media Server software on the NAS. My drive is running Twonky ver. 4.4.19

Can you check what Media Server software that your drive is running? Try logging on to your drive, port 9050 in a web brower and see if that connects to the media server interface (192.168.1.XX:9050)

Two thing
1. USB drives on Router sometimes have a fixed IP address different from the router IP address for ease of access. Check the disk web management page on your router web console for this. This is true for my cisco router at least.
2. Does your sony BDP support accessing via IP address? Then have you tried by accessing the IP address of the router / disk drive?
3. If your BDP can only access media from UPnP sources and you need to enable UPnP or DLNA on your router. See if this is already enabled. How is your laptop seeing the disk drive, is it as a separate icon on Network as a Media Player? --> this indicated UPnP is working.
