I recently got my HT setup but I want to check all the effects with probably sony demo bluray disc which are used in showrooms. Does any body knows where we can get this ? I want to buy this.
Or can anyone suggest me any other blu ray by which i can check all the the actual surround effect etc...
Please note I do have Abraham lincolc blu ray disc .. the effects are good but could feel the same impact as the demo videos in the showroom.
Just to add my setup is Denon 1312xp with LGbp420 bluray.

IMO it would be good to buy a movie with reference quality audio and test the set-up.

1. The Dark Knight: The fight and chase scene at the under bridge.
2. Saving Private Ryan: Opening war scenes for testing sub-woofer effects specially.
3. King Kong: All the scenes when the entire film unit have reached to the island and then Jane and other actors trying to escape from dinosaurs. Recommended for testing sub woofer and surround effects.
4. Inception: There are many scenes to test sub-woofer and surround effects in this movie.

Thanks. I will check for that if I manage to get the blu rays of those movies.
The demo disk similarly had different scenes from different movies.

You can get some sample files here

2D High Definition Trailers (HD) - Demo World.

If you need more demo blurays (Sony, Pioneer, Panasonic), I've a couple of them, not blurays, but full rips. You need to play them via a media player. You can take a copy of it from me .

Demo blurays are more for PQ test, if you need to test your sound, movies are the best.

Cheers.

@harshi

I generally download some good movie trailers(with 5.1/7.1) from the above link provided by aneelr. These video clips I use to check the audio quality and also to showcase the HT system to friends and relatives.

Another good site for high quality movie trailers is Best Place on the Web to Download HD Trailers - HD-Trailers.net (HDTN)

Few movie trailers recommended for good audio quality are

1) King Kong
2) Dark Knight
3) Last Airbender
4) 10000 BC
5) Iron Man

If you want picture quality alone - then get any of the IMAX blurays. Those will blow you away.

Thanks aneel , ukjeyaraj & manoj

So I got precisely what I wanted . So I will download few clips and play through the usb from Blu-ray and I believe the quality will be the same.

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
