Hello all

This is my first post here. Read a lot of threads before making one.

My dad wants to buy a soundbar for 50" LED TV. Budget is around 50k. It is flexible. As I have come to know that you could get much better 5.1 setups in this budget, I have managed to confuse myself and my dad. :P

Main criteria is less wires. We cant go for a 5.1 as there will be wires for the rear speakers. So only option left is soundbars or 2.1 system. Bluetooth connectivity is a must. So far we have auditioned only soundbars like the JBL SB400, HK SB26 also some sony and philips.

Me and my dad are kind of noobs in this area. It would be great to have your opinion.
Also if you could mention the dealers who sell these models.

For 50K budget you could explore brands like Yamaha and Polk Audio.
They have soundbars with or without sub.
Some Yamaha models are BT ready.

If you can source from USA, try this:

I have been using it for the last 4 years and it is very good.

Cheers,
Raghu

I wont be able to source from USA. Could you tell me any dealers where I could get Yamaha/Polk and audition them?

I went to 3 croma stores but couldn't find these speakers. They seem good.

Try Reliance digital too...

Is 2.1 really a better deal than a soundbar considering my constraints and requirements?

for a 50K budget, straight-away suggestion would be stereo amp + FS if you have the space... But you seem to insist on Bluetooth and wireless..

Both the soundbars that you have mentioned, have HDMI ARC, bluetooth and wireless sub... If you don't get other choices, choose between the two..

Went to reliance digital too. Either they have low end bars or Bose. Bluetooth/NFC(basically to play songs from mobile) is a must but I can compromise on wires if I'm getting q better option.

If you are looking for standalone components, you can also consider a Network capable stereo amplifier {Ethernet (or) wi-fi} in place of bluetooth...

you can also consider Onkyo LS B50 LS-B50 | ONKYO Asia and Oceania Website

Check aval in your city..

Take a look at this Sony Hometheater. It seems to be made keeping your requirements in mind. A friend picked it up from Reliance Digital I guess a couple of weeks ago. BDV-N9100W : Blu-ray Home Theatre Systems : Home Theatre System : Sony India

Sony website quotes 56k, however, I am sure you can get it for lesser outside. I shall confirm with my friend on how much he paid.
