I am facing a problem in these summer days while playing vinyl. A heavy "Tissh" sound from speakers ( 3 - 4 times per side) when playing LPs and looks like static discharge. It is happening to me almost in all records.

The frequency of sound per side is minimum if I wipe the record with a wet cloth before playing.

I used to do a layman test to check static on record. Just move the hand close to record surface and if the hand hairs pulled towards record then it indicate static. This test I carried out before playing and ensured no static and checked the same record after a single track played and observed heavy static.

I am worry on my speaker and amp.. it may harmful. Any FM facing this?

Mate get yourself an anti static recording cleaning brush. Use this just before play. You can order this online in sites like needledoctor, Amazon, Ebay Etc but if you want something immediately, I think Audio Dynamics (Abhishek) in Koramangala has these on sale.

Ooh, just ensure you dry the Vinyl completely when you use a wet cloth.

Calypso in Jayanagar also has a Thorens anti-static carbon fibre LP cleaning brush. I think it's priced at around 900 INR (not too sure though).

Wharfedale Linton Heritage Speakers in Walnut finish at a Special Offer Price. BUY now before the price increase.
